The REAL Faces Of Terror

Disclaimer: This post is probably going to piss some people off, son. Tough shit, man.

Look, I’m going to just get straight to the point, fam. When it comes to terrorism in America, radical Muslims aren’t our biggest threat. Now, if we’re keeping it a buck here, there’s one group who’s a larger problem than anyone else: White men. Listen, I know a lot of people are going to take this post the wrong way, but the numbers don’t lie, bruh. Since 9/11, WAY more Americans have been killed by White men than Islamic extremists. All in all, THIS is the REAL face of terror, folks!

Ok, before I continue, let me make one thing clear: radical Islamic terrorists are a real problem. Now, I don’t want to make it sound like I don’t believe that groups like ISIS and al-Qaeda are a problem. With that being said, they don’t cause NEARLY as many issues in the United States as politicians would have us believe. Shit, even when it comes to extremist-related attacks, a good number of the perpetrators are U.S. citizens. In addition, even when they’re not citizens, none of them come from the countries on Donald Trump’s Muslim Ban. So, what terror is he preventing exactly?

So, I was compelled to write this post after the tragedy in Sutherland Springs, Texas. Just yesterday, 26-year-old Devin Patrick Kelley opened fire at First Baptist Church. In the wake of the carnage, 26 people were killed, including the pastor’s daughter. Now, once his mayhem had subsided, he was found dead in his vehicle, seemingly from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. As of now, we have no idea what his motive was. However; history tells us that he was a piece of shit.

Now, based on recently-released information, Kelley was a bad seed through and through. During his time in the Air Force, he was court-martialed for beating up his wife and his child. He ended up serving a year in a military prison and was subsequently dishonorably discharged. Furthermore, he wasn’t allowed to own any weapons but still descended upon the people in that church with an assault rifle. *Sigh* Man, half of the parishioners are dead and we have NO clue why, son.

Moving on, I don’t want to turn this into a political debate, but Trump truly makes my blood boil, man. He couldn’t WAIT to call Sayfullo Saipov an “animal,” but had no such words for Kelley. Instead, he chalked it all up to a “mental health” issue and refused to comment on gun control. Well, if it’s “too early” to talk about gun reform, then why isn’t it too early to talk about mental health? Let’s be real, Trump doesn’t know anything about this man, fam. So, how does he know whether or not he’s crazy? Bruh, get the flying fuck outta here!

In the end, I just want this country to be honest with itself, son. Devin Patrick Kelley is a terrorist, man. Stephen Paddock is a terrorist, fam. Ultimately, Americans have a higher probability of running into them than an Islamic extremist. By and by, until we come to grips with these facts, people are going to keep on dying, bruh. All I can say, Rest In Peace to all of the innocent people who lost their lives. LC out.

Does Donald Trump Know Puerto Rico Is Part Of America?

So, what’s the difference between Puerto Rico, Texas and Florida? I mean, all three places were battered by hurricanes. Also, all three places house American citizens. Look, whether it was Hurricane Harvey, Irma or Maria, each land was devastated by Mother Nature. So, I ask again, what’s the difference between Puerto Rico, Texas and Florida? The fact that Donald Trump doesn’t give a fuck about the citizens in Puerto Rico.

Now, for those who missed it, Trump spent this past weekend blaming Puerto Rico for their own misfortunes. Instead of commenting on the fact that fellow Americans don’t have power or running water, he talked about the land’s debt. Instead of heeding Carmen Yulín Cruz‘s pleas for help, he criticized her leadership and falsely claimed that relief efforts were great. Once again, instead of having genuine compassion for people, Trump turned another tragedy into politics.

Fam, Trump actually had the audacity to say that Puerto Rico wants everything done for them. Shit, did he say that to the Houston residents who begged Joel Osteen for shelter? Did he say that to Miami residents who watched South Beach get damn near washed away? Nah, Trump only took that tone with the Brown people, son. Look, no one can tell me that race isn’t a factor when these people need help just like any other citizen. All in all, Puerto Ricans did nothing to deserve such blatant disrespect, man.

In the end, I’m surprised that Trump can still surprise me. I mean, the lack of regard for people under his jurisdiction is staggering, fam. Then again, he’s probably like the 46% of Americans who don’t even know that Puerto Ricans are fellow citizens. *Sigh* It’s Monday morning and my head already hurts, bruh. I’m gonna go now. LC out.

Where Was Barack Obama During Hurricane Katrina?

Listen, people are stupid, son. Like, if we’re keeping it all of the way real, there are TONS of idiotic folks in our world. With that being said, it takes a special brand of moron to turn Hurricane Harvey into a bipartisan issue. However; some Donald Trump supporters have found a way to do it, man. Now, in an attempt to praise Trump’s response to Harvey, a few fools took aim at Barack Obama‘s response to Hurricane Katrina. There’s only one problem, fam: OBAMA WASN’T PRESIDENT DURING HURRICANE KATRINA!

Man, the dumb-dumb levels of some individuals are just mind-boggling. Look, not only did people claim that Obama botched the Katrina relief effort, but they even insinuated that he was golfing instead of doing his job. Keep in mind, Katrina occurred in 2005. Obama didn’t get elected until 2008 and didn’t take office until 2009. Back in ’05, he was only a Senator in Illinois and George W. Bush was the President. Now, despite that fact, Obama STILL made his way down to New Orleans to provide aid to the people. THAT’s what he was doing during Hurricane Katrina, son!

Listen, I’m no Obama apologist, but clowns go out of their way to try and make that man look bad. Shit, what’s next? Was he responsible for 9/11? Did he cause the Challenger to explode? Oh, wait, Vietnam was all his fault, bruh! Along with Pearl Harbor, the Great Depression AND the Civil War, fam! All in all, just blame the Black man! I mean, EVERYTHING is on him, man!

In the end, my head hurts, son. Like, people suck, bruh. On the real, dummies who think like this are allowed to vote in this country, people. These asshats have a hand and a voice in our political system. All I can say is, this is exactly why we’re doomed as a nation. By and by, thanks for giving me a daily reminder of the inevitable, Trump supporters. LC out.

What Can We Do About Hurricane Harvey?

So, at this point, everyone should know what’s going on in Texas, man. I mean, Hurricane Harvey is out here BUGGING, son! As of now, at least 10 people have died, many more have been injured and TONS of others have been displaced. Needless to say, our Southern neighbors need all of the help they can get, fam. In any case, I hope this post can assist in some way, shape or form.

Now, I’m going to keep this brief, people. On the real, I’m using today’s post as a way to provide some necessary information. With that being said, if anyone wants to contribute to the relief effort in Texas, feel free to donate to the “Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.” This fund was set up by Mayor Sylvester Turner as a means of helping affected victims. In addition, The New York Times has also provided a list of local organizations that could help the cause. Hopefully, everyone donates to at least one of these groups, man. I mean, it’s VERY necessary, son.

In the end, I may be praying for Texas, but I also want to put some money in their hands. All I know is, the rebuilding process is going to be a motherfucker and every dollar counts, fam. By and by, I hope everyone stays safe down there, bruh. LC out.

P.S. Joel Osteen is looking shady as fuck right now, man. Now, for those who are unaware, his Lakewood Church used to be The Summit/Compaq Center. Meaning, that was the building where the Houston Rockets used to play. Meaning, it can hold at least 16,000 people. Meaning, there’s NO reason why it should be closed when displaced people need shelter. Good Lord, this man can take the congregation’s money every Sunday, but he can’t give people a roof over their heads? All in all, when things clear up down there, I want everyone to remember this, man. That is all.

A Letter To Jordan Edwards

Dear Jordan Edwards,

*Sigh* It pains me to know that you’ll never get to live a full life. It pains me to know that you’ve become another victim of tyrannical policing. It pains me to know that your friends had to witness your demise. It pains me to know that another family has to mourn the loss of a loved one. At this point, I feel physically weak, man. I’m exhausted from watching innocent Black people lose their lives over nothing. I’m tired of our community being terrorized by a system that hates us. All I can say is, your life mattered, Jordan.

Listen, on the real, I can’t judge you for being a 15-year-old at a rowdy party. Hell, I had my first sip of alcohol during my sophomore of high school. Keep in mind, I was on a boarding school-funded trip to China when I got shit-faced on Georgi Vodka with some of my friends. With that being said, I could never criticize you for having a night out, man. Then again, when I read that you and your friends didn’t even drink at that party, I learned that you were even better than I was at your age.

All I know is, your story is yet another example of the horror that Black people constantly deal with. You left a party that was supposedly getting out of hand and you ended up dead. I mean, it’s fucking baffling, fam! Of COURSE, the police had to claim that you and your friends were driving in an “aggressive manner” to justify your death. As if any spin story could rationalize shooting an unarmed teenager in the head. Fuck, man, when is the bullshit going to stop?! My only hope is that you rest in peace while the cops collapse under the weight of their own lies.

In the end, I really don’t know what else to say, Jordan. Your death hurts. All of these deaths hurt. I… I’ve got nothing else, man. Just rest well, Jordan. Rest well.

Sincerely,

A man who’s running out of ways to honor victims like you

A Letter To People Who Regret Voting For Donald Trump

Dear Regretful Donald Trump Voters,

I’ve never been one to hold back or mince my words, so I’ll just get straight to the point. If you already regret voting for Trump, I don’t feel sorry for you. Sounds harsh, but I wholeheartedly mean that. If you’re one of the people who has suddenly realized Trump is a con artist, I have no sympathy for you. This man showed you who he was the entire election and you refused to believe him. So, every terrible thing he does from here on out is on YOUR head.

Look, at this point, I’m not even going to reiterate all of the awful things he’s said or done. I’ve done that enough times on this blog. However; let’s talk about all of the promises he made to YOU and already backtracked on.

First, there was all of the bullshit he said about Hillary Clinton. For the entire duration of his campaign, Trump claimed he was going to lock Clinton up for her “crimes.” What were her crimes exactly? Having a private email server. Regardless of the fact the FBI determined she had broken no laws, Trump still asserted that he was coming for her head. Now, since all of you Clinton-haters LOVED the idea of putting her in an orange jumpsuit, you flocked to the orange-faced clown. With all of that being said, what does he do when he wins? Completely abandon the notion of pursuing any charges against her. One point for you Trump supporters.

Next, there was his stance on Obamacare. For YEARS, he railed about how much of a failure the ACA was. His entire healthcare platform was built around repealing the law and replacing it with something “better.” In any case, just a few days after being elected, Trump talked about possibly keeping parts of Obamacare. Then, he switched course and said the law was going to be repealed and replaced simultaneously.

Now, here’s the problem: not only do your Republican reps not have a replacement plan, but they don’t even have enough votes to pass anything at all. It takes 60 votes to push a new plan through the Senate and the GOP only has 52 seats. Do you see the issue here? Once again, Trump made a promise he can’t possibly keep. Not to mention, after this past December‘s ACA enrollment period, the states with the highest coverage are the ones that voted for Trump. Are you guys really that stupid? I’ll just take that as a yes, son.

Ultimately, you guys are getting what you asked for. You asked for a liar to be your president and you got one. Let’s see if all of his billionaire cabinet friends will help drain that swamp for you. Good luck suffering through the mess you caused. I’m out.

Sincerely,

Your friendly neighborhood LC

Black People Shouldn’t Call The Police For Help

Look, I just want to cut to the chase here. At this point in time, Black people have no reason to trust the police. Time and time again, law enforcement has shown us they have absolutely no regard for our rights or our safety. Their disdain for us is so strong, that even when we call them for help, our lives are still in danger. Now, after watching the viral video of a White officer arresting three Black women in Fort Worth, Texas, I’m standing firm in my belief that Black people should never, ever, EVER call the police for anything.

So, let’s quickly review this situation. Jacqueline Craig called the cops because her White neighbor choked her 7-year-old son. The neighbor alleged that the boy littered on his property and refused to pick it up. Somehow, this grown ass man thought it was appropriate to assault a child over litter. Now, when the cop arrived on the scene, instead of arresting the man for harming a kid, he decided to flippantly tell Craig to teach her son not to litter. From there, Craig told the officer that on top of the fact the neighbor couldn’t prove her son littered, even if he did, that still didn’t give him the right to hurt the boy. In response to that sound logic, the officer asked “why not?” Wait, what? WHAT?!? This fucking turd in a uniform really thought it was alright for an adult to choke a child over some trash he may or may not have placed on his property?! I’m literally beside myself from the pure lack of respect, man. The plain disregard for our basic humanity is mind-boggling, son!

Moving on, Craig’s daughter, Brea Hymond, tried to get in the middle of a heated exchange between her mother and the officer. Somehow, this led to the cop pulling out a taser and wrestling both women to the ground. Good fucking Lord, man! How the hell did we get here? How the fuck does a woman call the police for help and end up getting both assaulted and arrested? Protect and serve? This cop decided to protect and serve the rights of a violent ass neighbor who put his hands on a child! THIS is why we say Black Lives Matter! Even when we need assistance, we’re treated like criminals! Even when we extend our hands, we end up with spit on our face! I can’t take this shit anymore, man! I really fucking can’t! Black people have no place, no rights and no dignity in this fucking country! We’re still treated like three-fifths of a person.

Ultimately, I’m getting to the point where I don’t believe racial equality is possible in America. When situations like this continue to happen, it’s hard to actually believe we’ll ever reach the progress we’re so desperately fighting for. We can’t even get our detractors to acknowledge our lives are in peril, let alone get them to strive for change. All in all, Black people shouldn’t trust the police and we shouldn’t trust anyone who says “we need to have a discussion.” Fuck a discussion, man! Stop hurting us! Stop killing us! Stop belittling our pain! If that isn’t on the agenda, then shut the fuck up and get out of the way! I’m out.

Go Away, Lena Dunham

So, I plan on keeping this post short today, but I just need to make one thing clear: Lena Dunham needs to go away. Far, far, faaaaaar away. At this point, what is her point? What is her purpose? What is she aiming to accomplish with all of the idiotic things she says? For someone who claims to be a champion of women’s rights, Dunham spends a large part of her life spewing unwarranted nonsense. Now, I could take some time and go through her laundry list of tomfoolery, but I’d rather speak about two of her most recent incidents. After this, maybe she can finally disappear into an abyss and never be heard from again.

Now, let’s start with her debacle with Odell Beckham, Jr. As of now, I’m sure a lot of people have heard about her make-believe encounter with the New York Giants star. During the Met Gala earlier this year, Dunham happened to be sitting next to Beckham. While recounting her “experience” during a conversation with Amy Schumer, Dunham went on some ridiculous tirade about how Beckham didn’t speak to her because she wasn’t shaped like the women he normally deals with. She essentially body-shamed herself and made it seem as if Beckham was the one being sexist. She called herself a “marshmallow,” a “child” and a “dog” in an effort to present Beckham as some heartless misogynist who only values a woman’s body. Somehow, Dunham turned a non-situation into an ordeal which erroneously painted her as a victim. For me, I could care less about the fact she apologized. This story should’ve never been told in the first place. It didn’t add ANY value to the REAL movement feminists are fighting for.

Moving on, just the other day, Dunham did the damn most YET AGAIN! This time, her foolishness awakened while reminiscing about a conversation she had with a young girl outside of a Planned Parenthood in Texas. The girl was asking different women to share their stories of abortion. Now, despite the fact Dunham never had an abortion, she apparently didn’t want to be left out of the struggle. Instead of just leaving well enough alone, Dunham stated on a podcast that even though she’s never had an abortion, she wished she had. What? Wait, what?! Did she just speak about abortion like it’s the latest dance craze? Is this woman fucking serious? There is absolutely NOTHING lighthearted about abortion! While I’m a firm believer in a woman’s right to choose, that doesn’t make the decision any less difficult for them. It’s never an easy choice to forgo a pregnancy and her ability to speak about this topic so nonchalantly shows how dense she really is. How can a woman “fight” for women’s rights but be so insensitive to an action that can be profoundly impactful? Man, get this clown the fuck outta here, son!

In the end, I’m mad at myself for even writing this post, man. I really don’t believe this woman is worth any of our time. Hopefully, when Girls is finished on HBO, the ground will open up and swallow her whole. She doesn’t deserve to walk among us. Good day.

What Is The Point Of The Electoral College?

To begin, I know exactly what the point of the Electoral College is. However; as this recent election, along with the 2000 George W. BushAl Gore race, has shown us, this system is fucking bullshit, man! As it currently stands, Hillary Clinton has amassed 62.8 million votes across the country. In comparison, Donald Trump has pulled in 61.5 million total votes. Now, despite securing well over a million more votes than Trump, Clinton somehow lost the election by 74 projected electoral votes (306 to 232). Based on this result, on December 19th, the actual Electoral College is supposed to vote and confirm Trump’s presidency. So, let me get this straight, son. This woman could literally have a million MORE people on her side and still get trounced in the race? If that ain’t a sign that the Electoral College needs to go, we all must be wrong about simple mathematics, man.

Now, for those who don’t understand the Electoral College, I’ll try to give a little bit of background. I’m not going to go balls deep into the issue, but I’d like to give some insight on its purpose. So, the idea is, the Senate, the House of Representatives and three additional electors from Washington, D.C. vote for who will ultimately become the President and the Vice President. The way this vote works, all states, except for Maine and Nebraska, vote in a “winner-take-all” manner. Meaning, if a candidate has the most general election votes in a particular state, the electors from that state give all of their votes to that candidate. In addition, the number of electors per state depends on the population of that state. This is why states like New York, California, Florida and Texas have a shit-ton of electors.

With all of that being said, this system is fucking broken, son! First, the founding fathers put this system in place because they did NOT want the popular vote to choose the president. That’s a major red flag, man. Way to circumvent the will of the people, douchebags! Second, this system gives way too much power to “swing states.” Every four years, we can basically guess how most of the country will behave. California will most likely be a blue state, while Texas will most likely be a red state. Meaning, places like fucking Ohio and Iowa ultimately have the upper hand on who will win the election. Look, son, maybe it’s just me, but a couple of random states shouldn’t have that much fucking influence. If the overall country is leaning towards a particular candidate, why should we all have to suffer because a few states in the Midwest decided to do some fuck shit? It doesn’t make any sense, man! More Americans wanted Clinton as our president, bro. I don’t give a flying fuck about what people in Michigan are thinking. These swing states ruined it for all of us, son!

Ultimately, I could keep going with my Electoral College hate fest. However; I should probably get back to work. I need to make sure I acquire as much funds as possible, son. I damn sure ain’t gonna be broke during the revolution, bro. All I know is, Donald Trump ain’t my president, man. Tell his supporters to come and get me. Good day.

P.S. It’s funny, as in not funny, how Trump now praises the Electoral College after calling it a disaster back in 2012. I guess it’s only “genius” when it benefits him instead of a Black man. That is all.

Stop Shooting The Cops!

636043568505164363-ap-police-shot-baton-rouge-1

Honestly, I don’t even know where to begin when it comes to this topic. I have so many thoughts simultaneously floating around in my head, it’s hard to keep myself on track. However; I’ll start by saying this: stop shooting the cotdamn cops, man! With tensions at a remarkably high level between Black communities and our respective police departments, the recent murders of several officers in Dallas, Texas and Baton Rouge, Louisiana are making resolutions seemingly impossible.

By now, I’m sure everyone is familiar with the mayhem that occurred in Dallas back on July 7th. After a peaceful Black Lives Matter protest, where police were monitoring the event, Micah Johnson took it upon himself to kill five officers, injure another nine cops and wound two bystanders. According to Johnson, he was angry with both the police and the Black Lives Matter movement and wanted to “kill White people.” For him, this was a type of retribution for the numerous police shootings of Black males. In light of the recent deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, Johnson’s act of violence was looked at as direct revenge. Now, not even two weeks later, three officers were killed and another three were injured in Baton Rouge. As of the time I’m writing this, Gavin Long, an ex-Marine thought to be the lone shooter, was killed after the fatal attack he orchestrated.

Here’s the thing, I don’t think individuals like Johnson and Long realize, their actions are NOT helping our cause. There’s already a misguided narrative being perpetuated by cops, politicians and assholes on social media that officers are the real targets in this country. Despite the fact this notion isn’t backed by actual data, it’s all of the justification detractors need to ignore the now countless instances of police misconduct all over the United States. The reality is, when over 500 people have been killed by the police this year, the deaths of less than 70 officers, while obviously tragic, cannot be used as “evidence” of an imaginary war on police. In addition, this aforementioned “war” cannot and should not be used as rationalization for the various instances of cops wrongfully killing Black men.

Whether we’re talking about Amadou Diallo, Eric Garner, Tamir Rice, Walter Scott, Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, or any of the limitless names I could mention, all Black people want is for our murderers to be brought to justice. The only point we’ve tried to make is the fact a badge shouldn’t give someone the power to take another person’s life without any consequences. A badge shouldn’t give an overzealous authority figure the right to abuse his or her power and never face any retribution for his or her actions. As Black people, we simply want to be looked at as people and not some “threat” that needs to be neutralized. In every one of these scenarios, all an officer has to do is say “I feared for my life” or “I thought he had a gun” and the humanity of the victim goes out of the window. All proper procedure goes out of the window. The victim instantly becomes the villain because the dead can’t speak for themselves.

Now, while the anger is certainly palpable, anyone deciding to take the lives of random officers is doing a grave disservice to the aforementioned victims AND the officers themselves. As soon as the shooting in Dallas occurred, I no longer saw any news outlets provide significant coverage of the deaths of Sterling or Castile. They went from being a top story to just another blip on the radar. The lives of the cops instantly became more important than the lives of the Black men killed, and once again, naysayers used this as an opportunity to attack the Black community. They ignore our cries, and videos, of prejudice, they label the Black Lives Matter movement a hate group and they completely absolve any crooked officers of their wrongdoings. Instead of bringing light to our plight, these police killings further draw a line in the sand between both sides. Our ability to reach a mutual understanding with one another continues to suffer as a result. While some people like to use the “violence begets violence” argument, that doesn’t work when everyone becomes more set in their respective ideals.

Ultimately, if everything I’ve written here gets lost in translation, I just want to make one thing perfectly clear: I am NOT okay with the murders of these police officers. First, their respective families now have to deal with the unexpected and unnecessary loss of a loved one. Second, the misdeeds of other officers are unfairly being taken out on the wrong people. Lastly, these incidents overshadow the larger point being made about police misconduct. In addition, the Black victims always get lost in the shuffle. In the end, I truly hope things don’t continue to get worse before they get any better. However; I should probably know better than that. Good day.
