Alabama & Georgia Have Lost Their Abortion-Hating Minds

So, for the life of me, I’ll never understand why our legislative entities are so hell bent on policing a woman’s body. Like, they’ll gladly cut access to Planned Parenthood and various social programs, but a woman better not DARE make a decision about what to do with her own uterus. All I can say is, Georgia and Alabama have lost their cotdamn minds, son. The truth is, it’s a dangerous fucking time to be a woman in America, man.

Ok, for those who missed it, both Georgia and Alabama have passed some frightening legislation on abortion. Now, let’s start with Georgia, fam. To begin, the state’s “fetal heartbeat” law will make it illegal for a woman to get an abortion after six weeks. Here’s the thing: a lot of women don’t even know they’re pregnant at the six-week mark. Meaning, this law doesn’t give women a chance to make an informed decision, bruh. Essentially, this is as close to an abortion ban that Georgia could pass, son.

In addition, this law gives the authorities the right to investigate a woman who has miscarried. Wait, let me say that again, man. Listen, if a woman has a miscarriage, the fucking police will now have the jurisdiction to investigate her. Like, that’s fucking insane, fam! Women are literally being turned into criminals for their own bodies, bruh. Honestly, I’m fucking scared for them, son.

Now, let’s talk about Alabama. So, unlike Georgia, Alabama just flat out said that women can’t have abortions. Well, unless there’s a “health risk.” To make matters worse, a few lawmakers tried to add exceptions for rape and incest and those provisions were shot down, man. So, let me get this straight, fam. A woman could literally be sexually assaulted, but held in violation of the law for not wanting to have the baby. My God, women are becoming prisoners to their own fucking bodies, fam. Frankly, I legit don’t know what else to say, bruh.

In the end, I see where all of this is going, son. Real talk, the proponents in Alabama are banking on this law reaching the Supreme Court, man. Ultimately, they’re trying to get Roe v. Wade overturned. The sad part is, at the rate things are going right now, that shit might actually happen, fam. At the end of the day, I honestly hope I’m wrong, bruh. All I know is, we can’t rest on our laurels, brethren. The fight is here and every voice is needed. That is all. LC out.

It Better Be A Wrap For Brett Kavanaugh

Look, I’m going to try and keep this short today, son. Now, anytime I say that, I always seem to end up rambling. Nevertheless, I don’t know how much more there is to say, man. Frankly, the Senate needs to get Brett Kavanaugh the fuck outta here, fam. On the real, after Christine Blasey Ford‘s testimony, I 100% believe that Kavanaugh did that shit, bruh. With that being said, this dude is wholly unfit to sit anywhere near the Supreme Court, folks.

Ok, for those who missed it, Ford came with that ether yesterday. Now, while being questioned under oath, Ford made it perfectly clear that she has no doubts about who sexually assaulted her. Listen, not only was she positive about Kavanaugh’s identity, she also revealed that his friend, Mark Judge, was in the room when the incident took place. Real talk, this is important because of another detail she remembered. Apparently, a couple of weeks after the assault, she ran into Judge during his shift at a supermarket. This is notable because he spoke about his days working there in his own memoir. So, he inadvertently corroborated the validity of her memory, son.

On the flip side, Kavanaugh had a complete meltdown when it was his time to talk. All I know is, all of the “witch hunt” accusations haven’t debunked Ford’s story, man. Keeping it a buck, she’s really backed the GOP into a corner, fam. Shit, while watching Fox News, it was clear that none of the anchors wanted to call her a liar. Instead, they said shit like “we believe that she believes this story.” Meaning, they’re still holding out hope that they can spin the “it happened but it wasn’t Kavanaugh who assaulted her” narrative. All I can say is, nobody with a brain will believe that, bruh.

In the end, nothing else needs to be said here, son. Hell, even the American Bar Association wants the vote on Kavanaugh to be postponed, man. Listen, how can a man serve on the Supreme Court if he ain’t got a damn license, fam? Exactly. Ultimately, the Republicans can try to dodge this all they want to, bruh. At the end of the day, no one will be comfortable with Kavanaugh until a REAL investigation is conducted, people. By and by, it better be a wrap for him, brethren. Get his problematic ass away from our highest court. That is all. LC out.

The Women Supporting Brett Kavanaugh Confuse Me

So, I won’t lie, son. Today’s post is more of a philosophical debate than an indictment on Brett Kavanaugh. Frankly, I have no idea what to make of the allegations against him, man. Shit, Christine Blasey Ford could very well be telling the truth about her high school encounter with Kavanaugh. Deborah Ramirez could very well be telling the truth about her Yale University encounter with Kavanaugh. Keeping it a buck, we’ll only know for sure once the facts come out, fam. However, the women who are so quick to defend Kavanaugh confuse, bruh. Look, in the era of #MeToo and #TimesUp, what does it mean when women don’t believe women’s stories of assault?

Look, I was inspired to write this when I saw roughly 75 women hold a press conference to support Kavanaugh. Essentially, they were there to refute all of the claims against him and establish his credibility. My thing is, why are all of these women so ready to dismiss the accusations against him? Do they believe that their personal relationships with him automatically mean that he couldn’t have committed these acts? Man, one thing has absolutely nothing to do with the other, son. Listen, just because they had a positive experience with him doesn’t mean that he didn’t assault these women. All I know is, we’re looking at a group of women victim-shame other women. Clearly, that’s not a good look for anyone, fam.

The way I see it, situations like this damage the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements, bruh. Real talk, if women don’t even have other women as allies, then how can behavior be changed and justice be served? Now, like I alluded to earlier, I have no idea what happened between Kavanaugh, Ford and Ramirez. Frankly, no one does but the parties involved, son. However, it’s unnerving how fast people will ignore problematic claims when they involve someone they know. Hell, we saw the same shit happen with Lena Dunham. Listen, she was a “feminist” until a guy she knew got accused, man. Then, all of a sudden, a woman’s claims shouldn’t be taken seriously. All in all, this sets a dangerous precedent, fam.

In the end, I don’t know what’s going on, son. Ultimately, this entire Supreme Court process has been a shit-show, man. By and by, there are a multitude of reasons why Kavanaugh shouldn’t be allowed on the bench, fam. At the end of the day, if these allegations are true, this just solidifies it, bruh. All I can say is, if Ford and Ramirez are being real, then every last one of Kavanaugh’s supporters should be ashamed of themselves, brethren. That is all. LC out.

Stay Free, Meek Mill

So, Meek Mill is actually free, son. After five months in prison, his bail request was actually granted, man. Now, as a fan of his music, I must say that it’s good to see him out. However, I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t keep it a buck, fam. All in all, at this point in time, Meek only has one obligation: stay the fuck outta prison, bruh!

Ok, look, I’m not going to go in depth about how I view his situation. On the real, I already did that in an entire post, son. In actuality, I just want to give the dude some advice, man. Now, before I continue, let me get some things out of the way. First, I wholeheartedly believe that the Justice System victimizes Black people. Second, I also believe that Meek’s two-to-four year prison sentence was outlandish. Third, I’m well aware of the credibility issues of his original arresting officer. With all of that being said, Meek needs to lay fucking loooooow, fam!

Listen, from my perspective, someone in Meek’s position needs to be WAY more careful than the average person. Real talk, it’s no secret that our court system is designed to keep individuals, namely minorities, under their boot. Now, if we know all of that, we can’t give them ANY reason to helm us up, bruh! As of right now, Meek needs an entire new team, son. Frankly, he needs to keep his attorney, Joe Tacopina, and get rid of ANYBODY who isn’t helping to maintain his freedom. Look, “keeping it real” is all good until those prison bars show up.

In the end, there’s nothing else to say, man. Ultimately, I just hope Meek learned a valuable lesson, fam. By and by, he needs to stay FAR AWAY from anything that’s going to get him trapped again. Furthermore, he needs to cut off anyone who isn’t steering him in the right direction. At the end of the day, he better not let the law get him again, bruh. That is all. LC out.

Is Shepard Smith The Real MVP?

So, there are a few things I don’t believe I’ll ever see in life: a human being hit “The Note” from Sister Act 2, an actual album from Jay Electronica and someone from Fox News call Donald Trump out on his constant bullshit. Well, I guess I can cross one of those things off of the list, son. I mean, Shepard Smith just shocked the shit out of me yesterday. Watching him eviscerate Trump over his habitual fabrications was must-see-television, man! As expected, the Trump brigade is calling for his head as I write this. However; I’m ecstatic to finally see some GOP members grow a pair. Frankly, their party created Trump and it’s up to them to stop him.

Now, in case anyone missed it, Smith had one simple question for Trump: why does he tell SO MANY LIES? Smith brought up the fact that Trump can’t tweet or publicly speak without saying something wildly inaccurate. As an example, he referenced several statements that Trump made during his awkward ass press conference. He talked about the fact that Trump hasn’t given a good answer about what’s happening with Russia. Trump insists that his administration isn’t in cahoots with Vladimir Putin‘s, but if that was the case, then why was Michael Flynn fired?

Moving on, Smith also slammed Trump’s notion that he had the highest Electoral College victory since Ronald Reagan. Fuck semantics, that simply isn’t true, man. It shouldn’t matter whether or not someone is a Trump supporter, son. Facts are facts, regardless of how anyone feels about them. There is verifiable evidence to disprove A LOT of the information Trump spews into the mainstream. Smith is doing the right thing by taking Trump to task for his nonsensical ramblings.

Keeping it a buck, I was genuinely happy to see this, man. Like, at some point, even right-wing enthusiasts have to see the writing on the wall. Asking someone to be honest is not political, son. Trump is the fucking President, for God‘s sake! We don’t give a fuck about ratings, we don’t give a fuck about baseless claims of “fake news” and we don’t give a fuck about his fragile ego. We just want that man to do his fucking job. As it stands, he’s completely incapable of behaving as an elected official should, man. It’s actually frightening to watch, bruh.

Ultimately, we need more people like Smith. The more Republicans who hold Trump accountable, the better. Since they control Congress and will eventually control the Supreme Court, they’re our biggest line of defense. Keep in mind, I just threw up a little when I wrote that. However; it just is what it is, son. In any case, for today, and today only, Shepard Smith is the real MVP. LC out.

Get The Muslim Ban The F*ck Outta Here!

Shiiiiiit, how does Donald Trump like those judges and courts now, son? After violating the rights of numerous refugees, green card holders and visa carriers, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals told Trump to take his Muslim Ban and shove it. Ok, no, they didn’t say it in those words, but the court voted to uphold the block on the travel ban. With that being said, maybe Trump and his administration will now put a REAL plan in place to monitor potential terrorism. However; based on Trump’s response on Twitter, we shouldn’t hold our breath, man.

So, this entire saga started when James Robart, a district judge in Seattle, put a temporary ban on Trump’s travel order. This was done after both Washington and Minnesota sued. Due to the unconstitutional travel ban, many innocent people, including students, were being detained at various airports. The legality of Trump’s executive order was always in question, and when the case went before the appeals court, the three-person staff upheld Robart’s decision. Judges Michelle Friedland, William Canby Jr. and Richard Clifton unanimously determined that the government had no evidence to support the theory that anyone from the seven countries listed perpetrated any attacks in America. So, it was very reasonable for them to shoot this stupid ass executive order down.

Of course, Trump took to Twitter to berate the judges. I mean, that’s his MO, right? He vows to take this matter all the way to the Supreme Court, but that could take months to be resolved. If Trump is really serious about protecting the country, maybe he should have Steve Bannon draft an order that doesn’t violate people’s basic rights. If time is really of the essence, as he claims, he shouldn’t be wasting time trying to take this to the highest court. In my eyes, Trump only cares about winning and not about doing what’s right for the people. As of right now, he needs to hold this L and regroup. How about going after actual terrorists and not aunts and uncles who are just trying to see their families? I mean, that’s just a suggestion, son.

In the end, fuck Trump, Bannon and their First Amendment-ignoring Muslim Ban. Our country already has a strenuous vetting program that doesn’t break the law. I can say that because I’m a first-generation American who has plenty of family members who’ve had to deal with this country’s immigration policy. *Sigh* Once again, get Donald Trump the fuck outta here, son! LC out.

No, This Isn’t Politics As Usual

So, this is another one of those posts where I need to talk to my fellow Black people. Frankly, I’m seeing a disturbing trend among some members of my community. The idea that the election of Donald Trump is just “politics as usual” is not only flippantly dismissive, but also very inaccurate. While bigotry of all forms has always been embedded in the fabric of our country, never before has someone so OPENLY embraced EVERY kind of hatred and actually made it to the most powerful seat in the world.

Now, at this point, I’m not going to run down every despicable thing Trump has ever said and done. I mean, I’ve already covered enough of that on this blog. However; I do want to reiterate a couple of key items. When we look at Trump, we’re looking at man who’s bragged about sexual assault, called the majority of Hispanics rapists and criminals, called more for “law and order” in response to the police killings of unarmed Black people, berated a Gold Star family, mocked a disabled reporter, asked to use nuclear weapons more than once and proposed a ban on Muslims. Please note, all of that happened within the last 18 months alone, son.

Keeping it all of the way real, that last paragraph doesn’t even include his history of demanding the execution of the Central Park Five in 1989, failing to pay federal taxes since I was in elementary school and fishing to discredit President Obama‘s citizenship for half a decade. Now, in case that’s not scary enough, this same man is now in control of Congress and the Supreme Court. So, no, this isn’t just politics as usual, man. This country was built on prejudice, but Trump’s lack of decorum and INCREDIBLE lack of basic intelligence is unprecedented, son.

Honestly, I could probably handle a bigot, son. However; a bigot who’s completely unaware of how his job actually works is fucking frightening, man. Anyone who doesn’t understand that is truly disconnected from what’s happening in this country. Yeah, there have been openly racist candidates before, like George Wallace and Barry Goldwater, but neither one of those clowns actually made it to the White House, man. Stop the shenanigans, son.

Ultimately, I don’t want to hear shit from anyone who doesn’t vote or participate in our political landscape. As I’ve stated before, even if people don’t completely see the value of presidential elections, if those same folks aren’t involved in down ballot or local elections, they are part of the fucking problem. Here’s an example: in New York City, our major chooses the police commissioner. The commissioner then, in turn, governs how the police department will engage with the community. I don’t want to hear anyone complain about changing the laws and punishments surrounding police brutality if they have no voting influence on the people who enact those policies. Enough of the fucking excuses, man! Let’s get to work! Good day.

P.S. Trump’s election has already caused White people to pretend like it’s the 1960s all over again. Just take a look at a couple of the racially-motivated attacks that have occurred since Tuesday. Look, I’ve said it before, man. Bigots can run up on me if they want to, but they’re going to catch this fade, son. My hand speed is impeccable, bro. I ain’t nonviolent. That is all.
