I’m Down With The New NBA All-Star Game

So, I won’t lie, son. When I first heard about the changes to the NBA All-Star Game, I was ready to hate, man. I mean, it’s the law of inertia, fam. People like me don’t like change. In any case, the more I thought about it, the more I got onboard, bruh. With that being said, I’m hyped to see this season’s game! The way I see it, the 2018 contest has the potential to either be legendary or tragic. Either way, I’ll be there, folks!

Now, for those who missed it, major changes were made to the ASG. Apparently, the entire concept of East versus West has been eradicated. Instead, two captains will be chosen and they get to pick anyone from the starters and reserves lists. Essentially, the NBA is about to have a big ass pickup game, son! All in all, how could this possibly be a bad thing, man? Imagine Stephen Curry and Kyrie Irving on the same squad disrespecting everybody’s ankles. Imagine LeBron James and Kevin Durant on the same team throwing alleys to each other. Fam, this shit has the potential to be incredible, bruh!

In the end, I don’t even know what else to say, son. Look, I think the news speaks for itself, man. Now, of course, the outcome remains to be seen. Who knows, this could end up being a terrible idea, fam. However; I’m super interested to see who ends up playing together and how the game turns out. Ultimately, I’ll be watching, bruh. I’ll definitely be watching. LC out.

Donald Trump Hates Sports

So, just in case anyone forgot, Donald Trump is a fucking joke, son. I mean, with all of the tomfoolery happening in our country, why does he consistently focus on the wrong things? Shit, Kim Jong-un is trying to nuke us all, but Trump would rather talk about the NFL. Healthcare is still being debated in Congress, but he’d rather take shots at Stephen Curry. Man, this dude has ZERO understanding of the nature of his office. Honestly, when will this man realize that his job isn’t a reality show? More importantly, will we all still be alive by the time he figures it out?

Now, for those who missed it, Trump has been on a tear recently. First, during a speech in Huntsville, Alabama, he called football players who don’t stand for the National Anthem “son[s] of bitch[es].” In addition, he demanded that these players be fired, regardless of the fact that they’re exercising their First Amendment rights. Next, he set his crosshairs on Curry and the Golden State Warriors. Since Curry expressed that he wasn’t interested in visiting the White House, Trump took it upon himself to “uninvite” the team. Needless to say, the Warriors organization didn’t give a flying fuck, man.

In any case, as expected, everyone with sense called Trump out for his idiocy. LeBron James went hamburger on him for even thinking that rescinding an invitation was a power move. Look, logic states that a person can’t uninvite someone who wasn’t even planning on going. Meaning, Trump is a clown for thinking that anyone cares about his little temper tantrum. Real talk, a speech isn’t going to make a team visit the White House and it isn’t going to stop players from protesting racial injustice.

Listen, the fact of the matter is, Colin Kaepernick started a movement, son. Now, the powers that be thought that getting rid of him would stop the momentum. However; as more players from different leagues get onboard, the fight just keeps getting stronger, man. Hell, just the other day, Bruce Maxwell became the first MLB player to kneel for the anthem. All in all, players are determining that they won’t be silenced by influence and intimidation. Also, more owners and organizations are starting to join the debate, people. The snowball effect is starting to occur.

In the end, maybe Trump should stick to presidential matters. I mean, it’s not like he’s even doing that well, fam. Frankly, he shouldn’t have time to comment on players because he should be focused on doing his job better, bruh. Ultimately, this is yet ANOTHER example of the clowncake that the Electoral College put in office. *Sigh* The fuckery just doesn’t stop, son. LC out.

I Don’t Understand This Kyrie Irving-Isaiah Thomas Deal

So, this post may be a little different than usual, son. Being honest, I’m not really trying to make a point today, man. Frankly, I want someone to explain this Kyrie IrvingIsaiah Thomas trade to me. All I know is, on face value, I don’t understand what the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers are doing. By and by, this upcoming NBA season will be interesting as fuck, fam.

Ok, for those who missed it, the Celtics and the Cavs just made a monster trade. As it stands, Irving will go to Boston in exchange for Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and the Brooklyn Nets2018 unprotected first-round pick. Now, maybe I’m bugging, but I feel like Boston gave up too many assets for one dude. Yes, Irving is a wizard with the basketball, but is he really worth all the Celtics gave up for him?

Look, I will never, EVER front on Irving’s scoring ability. Real talk, he might be the most unstoppable point guard in the league. That’s right, maybe even deadlier than Stephen Curry, bruh. Listen, there’s literally NO WAY to stop that man from getting buckets, son. He can get to the basket at will AND he shoots above 40% from the three-point line. All in all, the Golden State Warriors may be 2-1 against the Cavs in the Finals, but they’ve NEVER been able to contain Irving.

By comparison, Thomas is also a great scorer. Despite his height, he always gets to the rack and he kills teams with the jumper off of screens. Keeping it a buck, the main knock against him is the fact that he’s a terrible defender. Here’s the thing: so is Irving. So, in my mind, the Celtics and the Cavs are swapping players that yield similar results. Now, is Irving a better player than Thomas? Yes. However; this trade would make more sense to me if there were less players involved.

For me, this trade got weird because of Crowder and the first-round Brooklyn pick. Although Crowder regressed a little last season, he’s still a damn good defender, man. In addition, a team can always benefit from having a first-round pick, son. So, why would Danny Ainge give up those assets for one player? A player who’s benefited from having LeBron James on his side for the last three years? All jokes aside, do the Celtics know exactly what they’re getting with Irving? Are they 100% confident that he can run the show? All I can say is, I’m skeptical as hell, fam.

In the end, anybody is welcome to explain this shit to me, bruh. Ultimately, this trade is a big deal in the Eastern Conference. However; I don’t know if it’s enough to overthrow the LeBron regime, fam. All in all, Irving is going to look pretty stupid if he goes through all of this nonsense and loses to James. In any case, I’m looking forward to the tomfoolery, son. LC out.

Hey, Cleveland: Don’t Get Swept

Now, as I’m sure everyone can see, the Cleveland Cavaliers are not going to defend their NBA title. I mean, keeping it a buck, the Finals were over before they even began, man. Ok, yes, I’m fully aware of what happened last season, but there’s NO WAY a Golden State Warriors team with Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry AND Klay Thompson could lose, son. With that being said, as of right now, the Cavs should have one goal: don’t get swept. Look, the Dubs are marching towards history and LeBron James and company don’t want to be on the wrong side of that story, fam.

So, after last night’s game, the Warriors are now 15-0 in this year’s playoffs. In addition, out of those 15 wins, they’ve won 12 of those games by double digits. I mean, that shit is plain ridiculous, son. As it stands, if/when they win Game 4 on Friday, they’ll be the first team in NBA history to go undefeated in the playoffs. Side note, if/when that happens, I’m going to write an entire post about why this was the worst postseason ever. In any case, the Cavs need to make sure that doesn’t happen, son. Listen, I truly doubt that the defending champions could live with themselves if they got blanked on the highest stage, man.

Ultimately, nothing else needs to be said here. Look, the objective is “simple,” son: don’t get swept, Cleveland. Now, for clarification, I put “simple” is quotations because there’s not a damn thing easy about beating these Warriors, fam. I mean, look at what KD did to them last night, bruh. The Cavs were up by seven in the final minutes and that seven-foot mic stand just killed their hopes and dreams. Anyway, I wouldn’t bet a single dollar on this, but I believe the Cavs will win Game 4. In the end, that’ll be as close as they get to a championship, man. LC out.

How About That Obamacare Repeal?

First off, despite the title of today’s post, I’m going to stop referring to the Affordable Care Act as Obamacare. On the real, Republicans have used this phrasing to stigmatize the issue in the minds of their base. This is exactly why a number of GOP voters don’t even realize that Obamacare and ACA are the same damn thing. In any case, now is a good time to laugh at the right-wing. Despite being in control of the presidency AND both houses of Congress, they still couldn’t muster up enough votes to pass the American Health Care Act. I’m sorry, but that’s fucking hilarious, son.

Now, I’d like someone to explain this failure to me. Ever since ACA became law, the GOP has made it their mission to bring it down. I mean, along with taking away women’s rights and banning all Muslims, repealing ACA is at the top of the Republican agenda. So, with that being said, how could they lose in such epic fashion? The GOP literally has home court advantage, son.

Look, they control the House of Representatives, the Senate and the presidency, man! That’s like having Shaquille O’Neal, Wilt Chamberlain and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on the same team, bruh. The Democrats really can’t do shit but cry in a corner. All that, and Republicans STILL couldn’t convince enough members to vote for the new bill. Shit, “pitiful” isn’t even a strong enough word, son.

Moving on, as expected, Donald Trump is lashing out at anyone within arm’s reach. First, he took aim at the Democrats. He blamed them for not supporting ACHA at all. Once he remembered that his party controls everything, he shifted the blame to his own people. Ultimately, he attacked the House Freedom Caucus and Club for Growth and Heritage Action for America for the crushing defeat. All in all, I don’t give a fuck who’s responsible, man. The bill was trash, most Trump supporters actually signed up for ACA and the White House has no idea how to lead. All I know is, if they can’t get this done, they’re going to have a tough road ahead of them.

In the end, shout-out to the GOP for blowing a 3-1 lead. I’m sure the Golden State Warriors would be very proud. Now, was that an unnecessary knock on Stephen Curry and company? Yes, yes it was, son. Big whoop, wanna fight about it? LC out.

Stop Talking, LaVar Ball

So, ever since the media put a microphone in front of LaVar Ball, he’s been nothing but a hot take machine. At this point, he’s made it a habit of saying something outlandish every single day. All I know is, he needs to shut the fuck up now. Look, I know the man loves his sons Lonzo, LiAngelo and LaMelo. However; if he doesn’t slow the fuck down, he’s going to doom those dudes before their careers even get started.

Now, before I continue, let me be clear on one thing. I’m not downing this man for believing in his children. Shit, I have two sons and I think the world of them too. I legitimately believe they can do anything and I actively try to instill that ideology in them. But, when it comes to LaVar, my issue is his own personal ego. The more he speaks to the media, the more it seems like he wants the attention for himself and not for his sons.

For example, just take a look at his comments about Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley. First, he claimed that he would “kill” MJ one-on-one. Now, this statement came from a man who averaged 2.2 points per game while playing Division II basketball. Bruh, I’m pretty sure that wouldn’t do shit against a former NCAA champion and former National Player of the Year. I mean, Jordan was a legend before he played an NBA game, son. Ball needs to sit the fuck down here.

Next, Ball stated that if Barkley thought like him, then maybe he would’ve won a championship. Once again, I point to the fact that homie was a highly subpar college player. What the fuck can Ball teach an all-time top 5 power forward about winning? Homie couldn’t even make it to a Division I school. Man, if this dude doesn’t get the fuckity-fuck outta here with the tomfoolery!

Moving on, pay attention to the fact that Ball’s sons weren’t the topic of conversation in any of those last two paragraphs. That’s my point, son. If Ball wants to hype his children up, then by all means, go right ahead. However; when Ball himself is the storyline, he’s doing his boys a disservice. Look, just calm the fuck down and let those dudes play basketball, man. Oh, and fix LaMelo’s shot, bruh. Keeping it a buck, he ain’t Lonzo, man. I’ve already written about the fact that I’m not the biggest fan of Melo’s game. But, that’s neither here nor there.

In the end, LaVar Ball just needs to be cool. Let his sons prove their worth on the court. Until then, his words don’t fucking matter. Lonzo can prove whether or not he’s better than Stephen Curry and LeBron James when he plays against them. However; after LeBron’s latest reaction, I wouldn’t be surprised if he has a chase-down block waiting for Lonzo. LC out.

I Can’t Stand Draymond Green

Ok, getting straight to the point, I don’t fuck with Draymond Green. In all seriousness, he’s the only reason why I don’t bang with the Golden State Warriors. Well, in actuality, I don’t bang with them because I’m a New York Knicks fan, but we all know what I mean. I actively root for Golden State’s failure because people like Green don’t deserve to prosper. Look, it’s not even the fact that he’s a dickhead. All jokes aside, I’m just offended that he’s such a dickhead when he’s nothing more than a glorified role player.

Look, if anyone talked to a Golden State fan, they’d hear shit like “Draymond is our emotional leader.” That’s just a fancy way of saying “he’s not our best player, but we like his attitude.” I mean, let’s keep it all of the way real, son. Before this season, Stephen Curry was the best player on that team. After him, Klay Thompson was next up. For all intents and purposes, Green was riding their coat tails to success. Yeah, he’s a really good defensive player, but put him on another team and see if he could prosper in the same manner. He’s literally the beneficiary of a perfect situation. Now, after his team added Kevin Durant to the mix, Green is nothing more than fourth fiddle on his own fucking team.

So, I bring all of this up because of his interaction with Paul Pierce during last night’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Green made fun of Pierce for trying to have a “farewell tour” like Kobe Bryant, despite the fact that his influence wasn’t on Kobe’s level. Now, on face value, that’s true. Paul Pierce was never as great or as beloved/loathed as Kobe. However; I have a major problem with Green saying that. While Pierce doesn’t compare to Kobe, Green damn sure doesn’t compare to Pierce. At the bare minimum, Pierce was the star player on a championship team. Green just hitched his wagon onto truly transcendent players and won a ring. He hasn’t earned the right to talk shit about a competitor of Pierce’s caliber. Especially not after winning a title because of circumstance.

Moving on, before Golden State fans crucify me, I want to pose a question. Why do they even support Draymond Green? I mean, he literally cost them a title last season. If he didn’t have an obsession with kicking people in the nuts, the Warriors would’ve won back-to-back titles. I doubt LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and the Cleveland Cavaliers would’ve come back from that 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals if Green didn’t hurt his team’s chances. Shit, they should be more mad at him than I am. He truly doesn’t deserve their support, man. His “emotional leadership” ended up being a MAJOR liability, son. Nothing more, nothing less.

In the end, I’ve said my piece, man. It probably won’t change anything, but in my eyes, Green’s attitude is undeserved. He’s out here talking shit to legends when he’ll never be one. That’s just some sucker shit, son. LC out.

P.S. Pierce won in the end anyway, man. A 3-1 joke will always trump any other shit-talking. Green should always remember that before he opens his mouth. That is all.
