So, I won’t lie, son. On the real, I’ve been in a major Fred Hampton frame of mind lately. Now, as anyone could imagine, a lot of that has to do with the Judas and the Black Messiah movie that’s dropping this week. Despite my previous criticism of Daniel Kaluuya, his pedigree as an actor just can’t be questioned. With that being said, I’m positive that he’s going to do Hampton’s legacy justice. In any case, since Hampton’s name is back in the limelight, I’d like us all to really dive into his message. All in all, he was assassinated for one main reason: uniting various groups of disenfranchised people for economic empowerment.
Ok, for those who are unaware, outside of his leadership position in the Black Panther Party, the Rainbow Coalition was his next evolution. With this group, he was able to unite the Panthers, the Young Patriots Organization and the Young Lords for a common goal. Now, while it’s always easy to spot the differences between Black, White and Latino people, Hampton’s mission was to display our commonalities. When it came to institutions like poverty and housing, the affects were felt across a variety of communities. So, coming together to address these disparities was a sign of true revolution.
The truth is, the FBI and the rest of the federal government were well-aware of this, man. J. Edgar Hoover was especially fearful of a “Black messiah” that could galvanize the people. Shit, COINTELPRO was created for the sole purpose of destroying any movement designed to help Black America. Real talk, Black leaders were already considered “dangerous” for espousing beliefs of equality. However, they were ESPECIALLY feared when they turned their attention to economics and coalescing with outside groups.
Look, it’s not a coincidence that Hampton was killed 8 months after founding the Rainbow Coalition. I mean, the FBI had a file on him since 1967, but was murdered 2 years later when he started working with different racial and ethnic groups. Furthermore, it’s not a coincidence that Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated a month before the Poor People’s Campaign‘s march in Washington. Hell, everyone loves his “I Have A Dream” speech, but neglect to talk about his demand for wealth redistribution, equal housing and land rights. All I know is, when King and Hampton started turning their attention to the greater crimes of capitalism, they were removed from this Earth. The way I see it, none of that was by chance, man.
In this end, this is how it has always played out historically. Ultimately, Tulsa wasn’t destroyed because of Dick Rowland. It was destroyed because White people couldn’t stand the idea of financially-independent Black people. By and by, the evils of this country really rear their heads when the money is being affected. At the end of the day, slavery was about free labor for monetary gain. All I can say is, true liberation in this country comes from financial freedom. All of our heroes knew that and that’s a main cause for why they were murdered. That is all. LC out.
So, I’m not going to lie, son. Real talk, I’m going to cheat with today’s post, man. I mean, at this point, I’ve said everything I could possibly say about Kanye West and his coonery, fam. All in all, his sit-down with Charlamagne Tha God hasn’t changed anything for me, bruh. Frankly, Ye has done a TERRIBLE job of eloquently expressing his thoughts and opinions. Side note, I think that’s because, as he proved with T.I., he doesn’t really know what the FUCK he’s talking about.
In any case, today’s plan is to simply re-post several articles I’ve already written about Kanye. On the real, I feel like they all still apply right now, folks. In addition, I’m going to post his interview with Charlamagne and let people take from it what they will. At the end of the day, I really might be out of words, people. Keeping it a buck, I don’t know what else to say about Kanye West. So, I’ll just let my previous words do the talking. *Sigh* People can click on my hyperlinks below. That’s all I’ve got for now, brethren. LC out.
P.S. I have no words whatsoever for Kanye’s interview with TMZ. I… *Sigh* Shout-out to Van Lathan, though. He said everything that needed to be said. Bye.
All jokes aside, how many dumb ideas can one dude have, son? Look, in my eyes, everyone has to pick a thing, man. Like, we all should only be allowed to have one ridiculous belief, fam. For me, I believe The Rolling Stones are better than The Beatles, bruh. Yes, I know some people may think I’m insane, but no one can convince me otherwise. With that being said, rapper B.o.B is DETERMINED to have the most preposterous ideas, folks. First, he claimed that the Earth was flat. Shit, he even got into a beef with Neil deGrasse Tyson about it. Now, he’s claiming that slavery never existed in America. All in all, this clown can’t be fucking serious, people.
Ok, as I stated in the previous paragraph, Bobby Ray is alleging that slavery didn’t happen in America. So, he posted some bullshit on his Instagram page and proudly proclaimed that there was no slavery in his DNA. Furthermore, he wondered why we could find dinosaur bones but couldn’t find any slave ships. Now, outside of the fact that he’s insane, his fuckery bothers me for another reason, son. Look, if this clowncake did even the SMALLEST amount of research, he’d know that everything he’s stated has already been debunked. With that being said, let’s start with slave ships, man.
Now, in Washington, D.C., there’s a little Smithsonian museum called the National Museum of African American History and Culture. Essentially, this museum chronicles the entire history of Black people in the United States. Please note, I’ve written about this exact place on my blog before. Meaning, the virtues of this building have already been added to the zeitgeist. In any case, this museum has tons of valuable items on display, such as artifacts from slave ships that B.o.B claims don’t exist. As it stands, anybody can go to D.C. right now and see remnants of the São José Paquete Africa, a slave ship from Portugal.
Moving on, what confuses me even more is the fact that B.o.B is from the South. I mean, he can go to a bunch of different states and see a preserved plantation right this moment, fam. At the end of the day, there are millions of conspiracies, bruh. However; the existence of slavery isn’t one of them, folks. It just is what it is, people.
In the end, I don’t want to hear any more tomfoolery from B.o.B, son. At this point, I only need him to do one thing, man: give me Sevyn Streeter’s number, fam. I mean, that woman is fine as fuckity-fuck, bruh! In any case, Bobby needs to leave the happy dust alone and go back to making music that people actually care about. Keeping it a buck, he hasn’t really done that in a number of years, folks. LC out.
*Sigh* It’s a damn shame that Black people used to be proud of Ben Carson, man. We used to celebrate his achievements, read his books and listen to his speeches. However; that time is looooooong gone, son. Over the past two years, Carson has let his clown flag fly. I mean, running an abismal presidential campaign and sucking up to Donald Trump should’ve been bad enough, man. But, noooooooooo, he couldn’t stop there. Carson had to take it to a new level, bruh. Now, after hearing his revisionist history of slavery, I’m in favor of launching Carson into space, never to be seen or heard from again.
So, while speaking to his Housing and Urban Development employees, Carson, a Black man, referred to slaves as “immigrants.” Now, before I continue, why does Carson run this department again? Just because he grew up in a housing project? Shiiit, by that logic, I’m pretty sure a few people from the Boston Secor Houses in the Bronx can do a better job. In any case, immigrants? Immigrants, man?!? To make matters worse, this dude said that slaves worked harder for less, but dreamed of “prosperity and happiness” in America.
I… I truly don’t know where to start, son. This clown is a 65-year-old Black man who was born in the Midwest. How can he be THAT clueless about Black history?! Enslaved Africans didn’t come here willingly and they DAMN SURE weren’t worried about prosperity! They were worried about surviving. Countless slaves died in those ships across the Middle Passage. For the ones who made it, they lived through the worst atrocities known to man.
Whether it was the backbreaking work, the beatings, the rapes, the mental torture or the eradication of our identity, Black people have a horrid history along this ENTIRE hemisphere! Side note, can we stop the lie that Sally Hemings was Thomas Jefferson‘s mistress? She was his slave and a rape victim. Let’s not try to normalize their relationship. She was forced to bare his kids, man. Fuck anyone who tries to make this scenario romantic. Anyway, how DARE Carson liken our people to anyone who CHOSE to be here? He is a fucking disgrace to not only his race, but to humanity as a whole.
Ultimately, I have to stop writing now. I’m getting angrier and angrier with each word, man. All I know is, there’s been a concerted effort to diminish America’s dastardly treatment of Black people. In the end, it definitely doesn’t help when sellouts like Carson hold positions of power. LC out.
Here we go again. Here we fucking go again, man. Right on schedule, here come the authorities with their latest attempt to murder a Black homicide victim for the second time. First, they kill us with their bullets and then they kill us with their accusations. I guess it’s not enough to just destroy us physically. Naaaah, they also need to destroy our image and disgrace our memory. Well, all I know is, I’m fucking tired of the character assassination of our Black murder victims.
So, while I’ve already spoken about the unjustified shooting of Terence Crutcher, I now want to talk about the latest “developments” from the police. Now, I put “developments” in quotations because it’s a FACT the police have a habit of lying about case details. Don’t believe me? Just look up the police report about Crutcher’s death and compare that to what we all saw on the video. Their words say he was non-compliant while our eyes see a man with his hands up. If that’s not enough, how about the recently unearthed video of a St. Louis cop planting a gun on a man he just killed? This happened back in 2011, man. That’s five years of that police department lying about what happened to that victim. With that being said, I treat police reports like the Boy Who Cried Wolf. The only difference is, the boy in this situation gets to keep on lying with impunity.
In any case, the latest news from the police is that they found PCP in Crutcher’s car. From what I can gather, this tidbit is supposed to give credence to Officer Betty Shelby’s story that Crutcher was “on something” and disobeying orders. Man, you can miss me with ALL of that fuck shit, son! Let’s be really clear here, bro. The cops are only bringing up the idea of PCP as a way to justify the shooting of this unarmed man. We already know he was unarmed because the police chief said that on the FIRST DAMN DAY! Now, here’s the REAL problem with this tactic: WE ALL SAW THE FUCKING VIDEO, MAN! Regardless of whatever tall tale the cops try to spin about his demeanor or behavior, there are MULTIPLE camera angles showing him with his hands up. So, in the end, all of their fairy tales don’t matter. A man can’t be a threat if his hands are in the air. Period.
Time after time after time we have to deal with the denigration our people. In addition to the claims of PCP, I’ve seen articles about how Crutcher had a run-in with the law in 1996 and also had traffic violations. Is that enough of a reason to shoot an unarmed man? Once again, detractors try to distract us from the facts in an effort to dehumanize someone who can’t defend themselves. I’ve seen the same thing done to Alton Sterling, Eric Garner, Walter Scott and countless others. They dig in peoples’ pasts to try and sully their names. This way, naysayers can rationalize the blood on the ground. They attempted to do the same thing to Philando Castile with news of his marijuana smoking, but his school community wouldn’t allow it. They admirably came to his defense.
All in all, devaluing Black lives has been standard protocol in this nation since its inception. From slavery to Jim Crow to blackface, it has always been a common practice to negatively depict Black people. It makes the narrative of why they “had” to kill us that much easier to explain. With that being said, I guess the cops really are just doing their jobs. That is all.
Seriously, Bill O’Reilly? No, seriously, Bill?! Is this guy actually for real with the diarrhea coming out of his God-forsaken mouth? Right when I thought I’ve heard just about every racist statement that could possibly be made, a fool like Bill jumps out of the window and reveals the depths of prejudice I didn’t even think were still possible. With that being said, thank you, Bill O’Reilly, for providing one of the most racist examples of revisionist history I’ve ever heard in my natural life.
Now, for those who missed it, on night one of the Democratic National Convention, Michelle Obama gave a very poignant speech about her view of America, while relating various anecdotes about her family life. In one particular passage, she brought up the fact that her, her husband and their daughters are living in a house that was built by slaves. The juxtaposition of a Black man holding the highest office in this country, when our ancestors were deprived of basic human rights, is nothing short of remarkable.
Not to be left out of this conversation, good ol’ Bill decided to jump into the fray and give Mrs. Obama a different “perspective” on these slaves who helped build the White House. While acknowledging the fact slave labor was indeed used to construct the presidential building, the Fox News “pundit” also noted that the slaves were “well-fed and had decent lodging.” Well, shit, why didn’t someone say this earlier? Being denied your freedom and having your wages given to your slave owners can’t possibly be that bad if the bosses give you a roof over your head. Besides, if these slaves worked besides free Blacks, Whites and other immigrants, who cares if their work was being exploited for the benefit of the very establishment who made it legal to profit off of their pain?
To everyone out there who is reading this blog right now, that statement actually came out of the mouth of someone with a national television show. He literally downplayed slave labor because they had clothing and housing. He even tried adding the footnote that the federal government stopped using slave labor in 1802, which is completely irrelevant because the White House was already finished by then. I’m fucking bewildered, man. It’s beyond disgusting how evil-hearted individuals are actively trying to rewrite the plight of my people. This is just as bad as those baffoons in Texas who tried to label slaves “immigrant workers” in their school textbooks. It’s bad enough we were forcibly removed from Africa and brought to this side of the world to suffer, but now our post-Diaspora ordeal is being reshapen. Let me make this clear to everyone out there: SLAVERY CAN NEVER BE JUSTIFIED!
In the end, I’m not going to sugarcoat this shit at all. Fuck you, Bill O’Reilly. Fuck you, Fox News. Fuck you to everyone who endorses anything this sexual harasser and domestic abuse enthusiast says. I’m already over this entire damn day, son. Goodbye.
