‘Whose Mans Is This?’: My Thoughts On The Kanye West & Charlamagne Tha God Interview

So, I’m not going to lie, son. Real talk, I’m going to cheat with today’s post, man. I mean, at this point, I’ve said everything I could possibly say about Kanye West and his coonery, fam. All in all, his sit-down with Charlamagne Tha God hasn’t changed anything for me, bruh. Frankly, Ye has done a TERRIBLE job of eloquently expressing his thoughts and opinions. Side note, I think that’s because, as he proved with T.I., he doesn’t really know what the FUCK he’s talking about.

In any case, today’s plan is to simply re-post several articles I’ve already written about Kanye. On the real, I feel like they all still apply right now, folks. In addition, I’m going to post his interview with Charlamagne and let people take from it what they will. At the end of the day, I really might be out of words, people. Keeping it a buck, I don’t know what else to say about Kanye West. So, I’ll just let my previous words do the talking. *Sigh* People can click on my hyperlinks below. That’s all I’ve got for now, brethren. LC out.

P.S. I have no words whatsoever for Kanye’s interview with TMZ. I… *Sigh* Shout-out to Van Lathan, though. He said everything that needed to be said. Bye.

Get DJ Envy The F*ck Outta Here!

Son, somebody tell DJ Envy to relax! I mean, I’m married with kids and even I thought he GROSSLY overreacted to Desus Nice and The Kid Mero. Look, for a dude who works on a show that CONSISTENTLY cracks on other people, it’s absolutely ridiculous that he can’t take a joke, man. All in all, I think there are two ways to look at this situation. In either case, Envy looks like a fucking clown, fam.

Ok, before I get to my analysis, let’s talk about how all of this fuckery began, bruh. Now, recently, Envy and his wife, Gia Casey, sat down with the hosts of The Real. During their segment, they talked about Envy’s infidelity and other issues that put a strain on their marriage. In any case, Envy admitted that his DJ persona was causing serious problems in his family life. By and by, that’s how he got embroiled in such tomfoolery as smashing Erica Mena.

Moving on, enter Desus and Mero. Now, during a segment on their Viceland show, Desus and Mero were cracking jokes, as they ALWAYS do. Anyway, Desus let a comment fly that it was probably easier for Gia to put up with Envy’s nonsense because of the money. Apparently, that was a step too far for Envy. With that being said, shit hit the proverbial fan when Desus and Mero went up to The Breakfast Club. So, off the rip, Envy introduced them as “Dickhead and Pussy.” Next, he demanded that they apologize to both him and his wife. In his eyes, they crossed the line by insinuating that Gia was only with him for the cash. Hell, he even went on an entire spiel about how they’ve been together since they were 15 and blah, blah, blah.

Now, after all of that, Desus and Mero actually apologized. However; that wasn’t enough for Envy. From there, he legit got up and walked out of the interview. All I know is, that was some super unprofessional shit, son. Listen, I truly believe Envy went above and beyond here. Good fucking Lord, it was a joke, man! Lighten the fuck up! This dude does a show with Charlamagne Tha God everyday and he has thin skin? Shit, it makes absolutely no sense, fam! Desus and Mero make fun of EVERYONE! That’s their job, bruh! If it was really a problem, they travel in the same circles. Envy could’ve handled this shit off-air, folks.

Look, even if people thought Envy was in the right for checking them, here’s another way to look at this: they apologized! Listen, Envy asked for an apology and he got it! So, what’s the fucking problem now? It’s fucking childish to demand an apology and then refuse to accept it. So, he overreacted to a minor joke AND refused to acknowledge that they were sorry. Nah, son, no one can explain that type of behavior to me. On the real, I personally can’t judge a man for cheating. But, let me say, that act is waaaaaay worse than anything Desus and Mero said, man.

In the end, someone tell DJ Envy to man the fuck up, fam. Ultimately, he needs to either grow tougher skin or act like an adult. By and by, he could’ve either let the joke roll or come to a sensible resolution. At the end of the day, he did neither of those things, bruh. So, I don’t feel sorry for the way the internet is killing him, people. When it’s all said and done, that’s what happens when bitchassness goes viral. LC out.

Did Charlamagne Tha God Sell Out?

Sooooo, even in the middle of writing this post, I could already feel the backlash, son. In any case, I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t persevere, man. With that being said, I feel like everyone got Charlamagne Tha God‘s point about Tomi Lahren wrong. Now, when I say that, I’m not even discussing his decision to hang out with her on the streets of New York. That’s a much different, and troubling, point entirely. In actuality, I’m talking about the Twitter shitstorm he started when he expressed his desire to see more liberals and minority women have a “platform” as visible as Lahren’s. In all honesty, if we really think about it, that’s what all of us “woke” people should want. We should all be fighting to control our own narratives and present them to the most people as possible.

Now, before I continue, let me get one thing out of the way: I disagree with literally EVERYTHING that comes out of Tomi Lahren’s mouth. On the real, her basic lack of knowledge, coupled with the arrogance she speaks with, irks me to my core. Here’s the thing, though: every time she says something flippantly stupid, it goes viral and we all waste our time trying to debate her. By riling us all up, she’s accomplishing the exact thing she set out to do. Her ratings only increase and the idiots who follow her only feel empowered. Being real, if we had more direct competition to her piss pile of a show, we’d be able to cut down on her “influence.” I mean, look at what happens any time someone actually challenges her. Trevor Noah made her look like a fool on The Daily Show. The more we’re on everyone’s radar, the more we can rid our society of trolls like Lahren.

Moving on, when I say we need more direct competition, I’m well aware of the fact there a number of women who are already doing their thing. Whether we’re talking about Crissle West, Jamilah Lemieux or Franchesca Ramsey, there are a number of Black women who are talking that real and not letting the bullshit slide. The way I see it, their platforms need to be MUCH larger than Lahren’s, this way our country can actually achieve the progress it desperately needs. Hell, as much “woke” shit as I write, I’d like to see my own message travel further. However; I don’t want to seem selfish in my intentions. In any case, the more people who are engaged, the stronger our movement will become.

In the end, I may disagree with how Charlamagne phrased his point, but I believe the logic is there. The more visible we are, the more impactful our voices will be. Now, I’m not going to front like I have all of the answers on how to get the exposure we need, but in all seriousness, it’s extremely important for our perspectives to be shown. Ultimately, “words mean things” like Kid Fury would say. Charlamagne may just need to work on his delivery. Good day.
