Have Folks Forgiven Justin Timberlake Yet?

So, I won’t lie, son. On the real, I’ve been a Justin Timberlake fan for over 20 years. I mean, I’ve been down since NSYNC dropped “I Want You Back” and “Tearin’ Up My Heart.” But, I really knew what time it was when they came out with “Gone.” At that point, I knew that Timberlake was different, man. Moving on, I was onboard when he released Justified, FutureSex/LoveSounds and The 20/20 Experience. Needless to say, I was super disappointed when that Man of the Woods fuckery came out. But, have we as a collective forgiven him for that train wreck of an album yet?

Ok, to be fair, there’s a segment of the (Black) population that was done with Timberlake after he threw Janet Jackson under the bus for that Super Bowl nipple. Real talk, I don’t blame anybody for that, fam. Like, that was still a hoe ass move on his part, bruh. However, as a voracious consumer of music, I’ve always championed Timberlake’s talent, son. Shit, even Man of the Woods had some jams on it, man. All I can say is, I stand by my previous assessment of “Filthy,” “Higher, Higher,” “Wave” and “Breeze Off the Pond.” But, given the departure in sound and the “White boy in flannel” promotion, a lot of folks turned in their Timberlake Fan Club pass.

Now, in all honesty, Timberlake’s new song with SZA is what inspired this post. All in all, I fucks with that track heavy and it feels like the sound that we’ve always loved from Timberlake. So, can we let him slide for Man of the Woods already? The way I see it, we can give him a pass for one trash ass album, brethren. For God‘s sake, he’s given us so many jams, son. In addition, if we’re going to blame him for that record, we also have to blame The Neptunes, Timbaland and Danja. Hell, they made those songs with him, man. Anyway, I’m willing to let bygones be bygones if he’s going to go back to making crack like “The Other Side.”

In the end, shout-out to Timberlake, SZA, Ludwig Göransson and Max Martin for making my current jam. Ultimately, this is the type of shit that I want from Timberlake, fam. By and by, everyone can peep the video below. At the end of the day, as long as he doesn’t try to mix banjos and 808‘s again, we’ll be good, bruh. That is all. LC out.

Roddy Ricch Got Justin Bieber Looking Goofy

So, before I even begin, let me just say that “The Box” by Roddy Ricch is my SHIT, son. I mean, from the Justin Timberlake/Ciara sample to the “eee ooo” to the idea of Cash App‘ing a chick for soul removal, the entire record works, man. With that being said, I’m super glad that Roddy kept Justin Bieber from going #1, fam. All in all, the goofy shit has to stop, bruh.

Ok, for those who missed it, Bieber also released some new music. Now, after a temporary break, Bieber came back to the scene with this “Yummy” record. From there, he gave his fans a bunch of instructions on how to make the song go #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Hell, fans had to download some shit, let it play all night, sacrifice a chicken AND solve for X, son. The point is, there was NOTHING organic about how Bieber was trying to play the game, man.

Now, to be fair, Bieber didn’t invent this strategy, fam. Shit, for a few albums now, I’ve seen Chris Brown do the same thing, bruh. However, I thought it was doofy when he did it too. Like, I understand that this is the music business and it’s a numbers-driven racket, but c’mon son. Real talk, if the record is that dope, the fans will flock to it, brethren. I mean, that’s EXACTLY what happened with Roddy Ricch. WE loved the record and that’s why it’s a hit right now, folks. Frankly, it’s hilarious that Bieber did all of this work just to come in second, people.

The fact of the matter is, Roddy put out a better song and the masses championed it. Side note, I’m 34 years old and had my first taste of vagina in 1997. All I know is, I’ve NEVER called it “that yummy.” Who the fuck did Bieber make that song for, son? People who’ve never had box themselves (pun intended)? Anyway, I appreciated the fact that Roddy shaded Bieber by telling fans to go stream “Yummy.” The fact is, Bieber was CLEARLY salty that his algorithm of steps didn’t work, man.

In the end, I wouldn’t be sad if I never heard “Yummy” again. But, I’m legitimately playing “The Box” as I write this, fam. Ultimately, the fans beat the algorithm, bruh. By and by, Bieber should just worry about making a better song and not trying to outsmart the system. That is all. LC out.

P.S. Despite the tone of this post, I actually fucks with some of Bieber’s music, son. On the real, both Journals and Purpose have bangers on them. Keeping it a buck, “Yummy” just wasn’t it, man. It happens, fam. Just go back to the drawing board and come out with some heat, bruh. Good day.

It Be Ya Own People: Kevin Hart Edition

So, this Kevin Hart infidelity shit just took a weird turn, huh? I mean, when I read that someone was trying to extort him with a sex tape, I just assumed it was one of the women in the video, son. On the real, I would’ve never imagined that the culprit might be someone from his inner circle, man. In any case, if the rumors are true, then Jonathan Todd Jackson is a fucking clown, fam. All in all, what part of the game is trying to extort a friend, bruh?

Ok, before I continue, allow me to be petty for a second, son. Now, while researching this story, I’ve seen several media outlets refer to Jackson as either JT or Action Jackson. First off, we already have a JT and his name is Justin Timberlake, man. Furthermore, that JT is already on thin ice after his Man of the Woods album, fam. Needless to say, we don’t need anymore fuckery from someone who goes by JT. Second, there’s only one Action Jackson and his name is Carl Weathers, bruh. Look, I ain’t never see Jonathan Todd square up with Rocky Balboa or Predator, folks. So, he doesn’t have the right to use the “Action” moniker.

Anyway, let’s get back to Jackson’s tomfoolery, son. Now, according to reports, Jackson has been charged with attempted extortion and extortion by threatening letter. Apparently, he somehow got a copy of Hart’s sex tape and tried to swindle some money out of the comedian. This is notable because these dudes used to be boys. Real talk, I only recognize Jackson’s face because of his proximity to Hart, man. Shit, I can specifically remember seeing him in Think Like a Man Too, a film that starred Hart. So, I think it’s safe to say that Hart got homie a roll in that film.

My thing is, what would lead that dude to attempt this fuck shit, fam? Keeping it a buck, if my boy tried to shake me for some cash, I might as well just confess, bruh. I’d much rather take the risk with my wife than give a carpetbagger any of my bread, son. On top of that, this friend, now former friend, would have to catch these hands, man. Lastly, I’d make him film his own beatdown, since he likes tapes so damn much. Good Lord, Jackson is a straight dumbass for this shit, people.

In the end, I hope those felony charges were worth it, son. Ultimately, if Jackson gets convicted, those consequences ain’t gonna be sweet, man. At the end of the day, stupid is as stupid does, shout-out to Forrest Gump. By and by, Jackson is the definition of stupid, fam. That is all. LC out.

Nah, This Album Ain’t It, Justin Timberlake

So, let me begin this post by saying that I’m a Justin Timberlake fan. Now, I’m a fan despite the fact that he dissed Prince (my hero) on Timbaland‘s “Give It To Me.” In addition, I’m a fan despite the fact that he left Janet Jackson out to dry after Super Bowl XXXVIII. In any case, regardless of his occasionally egregious behavior, I’ve always jammed out to his music. With that being said, I’m disappointed with this Man of the Woods album, son. All in all, I know he wanted to go for a specific sound on this new record. All I can say is, it ain’t really work out too well, man.

Ok, look, let me explain my beef with this album, fam. Now, based on the record’s production, it’s clear that JT tried to mix genres. On a lot of the songs, he mixed Country and Blues-inspired guitar riffs with 808‘s. Anyway, in theory, this may sound like a cool experiment. In actuality, I don’t really think the textures go together, bruh. Look, in my opinion, a bunch of these songs would’ve benefited more from real bass lines. However; producers like The Neptunes and Timbaland tried to substitute those bass licks with 808’s. For me, a lot of it didn’t work, folks.

Now, with all of that being said, I’m not insinuating that this album doesn’t have bangers, son. Keeping it a buck, my assessment of this record is only based on JT’s past music. Sonically, this joint is better than a lot of the shit out there in the zeitgeist. However; based on his own discography, this album is kinda lacking, man. In any case, I do have a few favorites on here, fam. In my eyes, “Filthy,” “Higher, Higher,” “Wave,” “Montana,” “Breeze Off the Pond” and the bridge on “Supplies” are all gold, bruh. Side note, I’m only taking the bridge on “Supplies” because the lyrics to the rest of the song are silly, people. “The world could end now, baby, we’ll be living in The Walking Dead“? Cut it out, JT!

In the end, it doesn’t really matter if people agree with me or not, son. Ultimately, I expect the best from Timberlake and he didn’t quite pull it off this time. By and by, this doesn’t really diminish him as an artist, man. I mean, he does deserve some credit for trying to cultivate a new sound, fam. Now, while I don’t think it necessarily worked, it did generate a few jams. At the end of the day, I’ll take it, bruh. Besides, I’m just happy that him, Pharrell and Chad Hugo are working together again. That is all. LC out.

The Giants Fan In Me Can’t Watch The Super Bowl

So, what’s a guy to do, son? Do I choose Satan or do I choose the Antichrist? I mean, that’s EXACTLY how I feel trying to pick between the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles. I mean, as a New York Giants fan, Super Bowl LII is the worst shit ever, man! Look, regardless of the outcome, a team I can’t stand is going to be the NFL champion. Shit, this is precisely how I felt back in 2005 when Donovan McNabb and Terrell Owens faced off against Tom Brady and Deion Branch. Either way, I’m not even sure if I can watch this shit, fam!

Listen, let’s skip the pretense, bruh. On the real, it’s simple mathematics, son. The Eagles are in the Giants’s division and the Patriots have been our Super Bowl nemesis. Look, there’s NO possible way for me to feel good about this championship game, man. As it stands, either the Eagles are going to win their first Super Bowl or Brady is going to get ring number six. Either way, the outcome is going to be the trashiest of the trash, fam. In addition, since Justin Timberlake seems to be embracing his inner MAGA, I can’t even look forward to the halftime show!

In the end, I have nothing else to give, bruh. Ultimately, I don’t give a fuck about what others may say. Yeah, I’m ABSOLUTELY salty, son! By and by, I haven’t supported the NFL all season for what they did to Colin Kaepernick and I will continue to sit on the sidelines. All I know is, I still have a trash ass Knicks team to root for and a ton of UFC fights to watch. That is all. LC out.
