LaVar Ball Did It

So, let me keep it a buck, son. On the real, if anyone’s ever read this blog, they’d know that I’m not a big fan of LaVar Ball. I mean, from his consistently outlandish statements to those Big Baller Brand sneakers that some supporters still haven’t received, Ball is often on the wrong side of the news cycle. However, I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t give credit where credit is due, man. The fact of the matter is, the fucking guy did it, fam. As of today, all three of his sons are in the NBA.

Ok, for those who missed it, as of yesterday, all of the Ball brothers are officially in the league. So, as we all know, Lonzo is holding it down with the New Orleans Pelicans. In addition, LaMelo was just chosen as the 3rd overall pick by the Charlotte Hornets in this year’s NBA Draft. Now, the middle brother, LiAngelo, just signed a one-year non-guaranteed contract with the Detroit Pistons. All in all, my opinions on LaVar don’t matter right now. This is a fucking feat, bruh. In a three-year span, all of his sons have reached the pinnacle of professional basketball. Real talk, I stand by everything that I’ve previously said, but the three brothers have successfully worked themselves into this position. With all of that being said, salute to them, brethren.

In the end, there’s nothing else to say, son. Ultimately, the Ball family should be ecstatic right now. By and by, getting one family member in the NBA is an accomplishment. Shit, getting two family members in the league is astounding. But, getting three family members in is otherworldly, man. At the end of the day, I’m objective enough to recognize a dope thing when I see it, fam. So, congrats to the Ball conglomerate. For real. That is all. LC out.

Jordan Fans Pretend Like Detroit Never Existed

So, before I begin, let me say that I anticipate some hate coming my way. However, I pride myself on being objective, son. In any case, while I still believe that Michael Jordan is the best basketball player of all time, his legend has taken on an unrealistic sheen. I mean, anytime there’s a debate between him and LeBron James, people bring up James’ failures. But, they never do the same for Jordan. The fact of the matter is, Jordan’s career wasn’t as perfect as folks like to pretend. All in all, the Detroit Pistons can attest to that.

Ok, let’s get straight to the shits, man. Look, anytime someone wants to disparage James, they bring up his 3-6 NBA Finals record. Or, they’ll say something like “Jordan would never get swept in the Finals.” Frankly, they pretend like the playoffs begin and end in the Finals. Now, Jordan may have been perfect in the Finals, but it took him a long ass time to get there. In fact, at one point in time, there was a narrative that a scoring champion like him couldn’t get it done. Shit, most of that narrative was due to the fact that the Pistons beat his ass every single year. Side bar, that team actually swept him before, too. The way I see it, no one should bring up James and the Golden State Warriors but neglect Jordan and the Pistons.

Fam, before Jordan won his first title in 1991, he lost to the Pistons three years in a row. Let me say that again: Michael Jordan lost to the same Detroit Pistons team THREE YEARS IN A ROW! Hell, imagine if that shit happened in the social media era. Jordan would have to deal with a lot more than just the “Crying Face” meme. Now, none of that takes away from his greatness or everything that he was able to accomplish. But, Jordan stans act like that shit never happened, bruh. Hell, they pretend like he was just a model of perfection and forget about the years that he struggled. The truth is, those struggles are what pushed him to be better. So, getting smacked around by the Pistons elevated his game, son.

In the end, I’m not here to restart the Jordan vs. James debate. Ultimately, I still think that Jordan is the G.O.A.T. But, I’m glad that The Last Dance talked about those years. By and by, acknowledging that a legend has faults doesn’t make them any less of a legend. At the end of the day, the same goes for LeBron James. So, instead of acting like a bunch of bitches, why don’t we appreciate all of the awesome shit that we’ve seen these players do. Ok? Great. That is all. LC out.

Trump Is As Much Of An Immigrant As The Freshman Congresswomen

So, here we are again, son. Another day, another preposterous Twitter rant from Donald Trump. Anyway, in a random stream of consciousness, Trump tweeted that progressive Democratic congresswomen should “fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came” before telling the United States how to govern. All I know is, I don’t even know where to begin with the fuckery, man.

Ok, before I continue, I’d like to go through Trump’s family tree. On the real, I feel like this is necessary in order to showcase how ridiculous his comments were. Now, for those who are unaware, Trump’s mother, Mary Anne Trump, was an immigrant. In fact, she was born in Scotland in 1912. In addition, his father, Fred Trump, was a first generation American who was born to German parents. Furthermore, Trump’s first AND third wives were both born outside of this country. With all of that being said, his views on immigrants are fucking perplexing, fam. I mean, his entire lineage is full of “aliens,” bruh.

Moving on, let’s talk about the congresswomen who Trump essentially targeted. First, there’s Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. She was born in The Bronx, New York to Puerto Rican parents. This makes her a first generation American. Next, there’s Rashida Tlaib. She was born in Detroit, Michigan to Palestinian parents. This also makes her a first generation American. Next, there’s Ayanna Pressley. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. Now, unless I’m wrong, her folks weren’t even immigrants at all, son (well, they were, but you know what I mean). Finally, there’s Ilhan Omar. Real talk, she’s the only one who was born out of the country, hailing from Somalia. The point is, the ancestry of most of these women has as many foreigners as Trump, man. So, what is the hate really about, fam?

Look, let’s just call a spade a spade, bruh. The truth is, immigrants are only vilified when they’re Black or Brown, son. Keeping it a buck, the motivation that caused Trump to question Barack Obama‘s birthplace is the same motivation that caused him to attack these congresswomen. The fact is, these ladies are just as American as Trump and anybody else who decides to question them. Listen, political disagreements are one thing. However, belittling someone’s patriotism and devaluing their place in this country is completely different, man. The way I see, people of color are always viewed as “invaders,” regardless of our strong ties to this nation.

In the end, I’m not even going to pretend like I’m surprised, fam. Like, I almost skipped this subject entirely, bruh. Hell, water is wet and Donald Trump says racist shit. What’s new, son? Ultimately, 45 showed us who he was a loooooooong time ago, man. At the end of the day, we just need to keep pushing back until we finally push him out, fam. That is all. LC out.
