Who’s The G.O.A.T.? Michael Jordan vs. LeBron James

So, let me begin this post by saying that Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time. However; the LeBron James slander needs to stop, son. Look, whether people want to admit it or not, LeBron deserves to be in the G.O.A.T. conversation now. I mean, the numbers don’t lie and the ball don’t lie either, man. Frankly, the NBA has never seen a player like LeBron, and it’s about time we give him his damn respect.

Now, before I continue, let me keep it a buck with everyone. To be real, I wasn’t always a LeBron fan. In fact, during his last season with the Cleveland Cavaliers (the first time) and his first season with the Miami Heat, I thought he was a sucker, son. Look, the man quit against the Boston Celtics in the 2010 Semifinals and played like pure ass against the Dallas Mavericks in the 2011 Finals. Needless to say, at that particular time, I questioned his heart.

With that all of that being said, this dude has completely dominated the league since his arrival. All jokes aside, LeBron’s ability should NEVER be questioned, bruh. Listen, MJ may be the NBA version of the Bogeyman, but LeBron is actually better than him in a few notable areas. All in all, LeBron is a better passer, a better rebounder and a more efficient scorer than MJ. Don’t believe me? Just look at the statistics, son. It just is what it is, man.

Moving on, LeBron is also a better defender than Jordan. Yes, I said it. Big whoop, wanna fight about it? Look, if we’re being real here, Scottie Pippen was the best defender on those old Chicago Bulls teams. He was the one who always had the toughest defensive assignment. Don’t believe me again? Well, go back and watch the 1991 Finals. Who was the one guarding Magic Johnson most of the time? That’s right, Pippen, son. Now, don’t get me wrong, MJ was a genius at playing the passing lanes. However; LeBron can legitimately guard every position on the court. Give that man his just due, fam.

Ok, with all of that being said, people really slander LeBron when it comes to rings. I mean, I can’t count how many times I’ve seen fools say “he only has three rings.” Only? Only?! Man, how many legends are in the Hall of Fame with NO rings or ONE championship? Shit, even when people compare LeBron to Kobe Bryant, they bring up the fact that Kobe has two more rings than LeBron. Well, LeBron has more Finals MVP‘s than Kobe because Kobe won his first three titles with a li’l ol’ player named Shaquille O’Neal. Kobe wasn’t even the best player on his own team during those years, bruh. Stop it, fam.

When it comes to Jordan, people like to pretend like all he ever did was win. Why does no one ever bring up the fact that he lost to the Detroit Pistons three years in a row? Three years in a row, man! In actuality, MJ only beat that team once, fam. Granted, he did it on the way to his first title, but he was never infallible in the playoffs. As a matter of fact, before his title runs, critics weren’t even sure if he had what it took to win it all. So, why do we criticize LeBron for making all of these Finals, but let MJ slide for repeatedly losing to the same team? That makes absolutely no sense, son.

In the end, I’m not trying to take away from Jordan’s greatness. I still believe he’s the greatest. However; when people put LeBron’s name in that conversation, it really isn’t as crazy as some would like us to believe. Ultimately, if LeBron can somehow magically beat the Golden State Warriors again, it might be time for everyone to rearrange their G.O.A.T. list. That is all. LC out.

I Can’t Stand Draymond Green

Ok, getting straight to the point, I don’t fuck with Draymond Green. In all seriousness, he’s the only reason why I don’t bang with the Golden State Warriors. Well, in actuality, I don’t bang with them because I’m a New York Knicks fan, but we all know what I mean. I actively root for Golden State’s failure because people like Green don’t deserve to prosper. Look, it’s not even the fact that he’s a dickhead. All jokes aside, I’m just offended that he’s such a dickhead when he’s nothing more than a glorified role player.

Look, if anyone talked to a Golden State fan, they’d hear shit like “Draymond is our emotional leader.” That’s just a fancy way of saying “he’s not our best player, but we like his attitude.” I mean, let’s keep it all of the way real, son. Before this season, Stephen Curry was the best player on that team. After him, Klay Thompson was next up. For all intents and purposes, Green was riding their coat tails to success. Yeah, he’s a really good defensive player, but put him on another team and see if he could prosper in the same manner. He’s literally the beneficiary of a perfect situation. Now, after his team added Kevin Durant to the mix, Green is nothing more than fourth fiddle on his own fucking team.

So, I bring all of this up because of his interaction with Paul Pierce during last night’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Green made fun of Pierce for trying to have a “farewell tour” like Kobe Bryant, despite the fact that his influence wasn’t on Kobe’s level. Now, on face value, that’s true. Paul Pierce was never as great or as beloved/loathed as Kobe. However; I have a major problem with Green saying that. While Pierce doesn’t compare to Kobe, Green damn sure doesn’t compare to Pierce. At the bare minimum, Pierce was the star player on a championship team. Green just hitched his wagon onto truly transcendent players and won a ring. He hasn’t earned the right to talk shit about a competitor of Pierce’s caliber. Especially not after winning a title because of circumstance.

Moving on, before Golden State fans crucify me, I want to pose a question. Why do they even support Draymond Green? I mean, he literally cost them a title last season. If he didn’t have an obsession with kicking people in the nuts, the Warriors would’ve won back-to-back titles. I doubt LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and the Cleveland Cavaliers would’ve come back from that 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals if Green didn’t hurt his team’s chances. Shit, they should be more mad at him than I am. He truly doesn’t deserve their support, man. His “emotional leadership” ended up being a MAJOR liability, son. Nothing more, nothing less.

In the end, I’ve said my piece, man. It probably won’t change anything, but in my eyes, Green’s attitude is undeserved. He’s out here talking shit to legends when he’ll never be one. That’s just some sucker shit, son. LC out.

P.S. Pierce won in the end anyway, man. A 3-1 joke will always trump any other shit-talking. Green should always remember that before he opens his mouth. That is all.

Russell Westbrook Needs To Chill

Man, Kevin Durant created a fucking monster, bro. Even though Russell Westbrook has always played like someone sprinkled fecal matter on his Corn Flakes, he’s turned it up to 1000% this year, son. Has anyone been watching this dude, man?! 22 games into the NBA season, Westbrook is currently averaging a triple-double. Even crazier, he’s had triple-doubles in six straight games and reached that feat by the third quarter in four of the last five games. What kind of video game shit is this, bro? Now, the real question is, can he keep this up for the entire season?

As of right now, Westbrook is averaging 31 points, 11 assists and 11 rebounds. Only Oscar Robertson has ever averaged a triple-double for an entire season. He accomplished this feat during the 1970-71 season. Side note, Robertson also averaged a triple-double over a five-season period, but people don’t seem to talk about that as much. On the real, I have no idea why because I think that’s an even sillier accomplishment. In any case, with his absurd play this season, Westbrook has already passed LeBron James on the all-time triple-double list. Keep in mind, it took him 400 less games to do so. Now, I’m not trying to say anything about James’ legacy, because he’s already in the Top 3, but c’mon son, that’s an insane stat. A fucking insaaaane stat, man.

Now, let’s not pretend like Westbrook’s savagery isn’t a direct result of Durant leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder. While Westbrook has always been the one with the most heart on the team, when Durant tucked his tail between his legs and scurried over to the Golden State Warriors, Westbrook clearly took that shit personally, son. I truly believe that he believes he can steamroll his way into the playoffs and to a title. Shit, at this point, I want to see it, son. I want to see Westbrook average a triple-double for a whole season. I want to see the Thunder battle the Warriors in the playoffs. I want to see Westbrook dunk on the entire Golden State starting five… repeatedly. This is what basketball is about, son! Competition, competition and more competition! Let the bad blood rain, son! Kumite!!!

In the end, as I’m sure anyone reading this can tell, I’m enjoying the hell out of this show, man. I just hope it lasts forever. Viva la Russell Westbrook! Good day.
