Here’s The Truth, Chance the Rapper

So, here we are, son. Two weeks removed from Chance the Rapper‘s “debut” album, The Big Day, and the reviews are in, man. Needless to say, a lot of people, including me, didn’t like the record, fam. Now, I can’t speak for anyone else, but I have my reasons for why I didn’t rock with the project, bruh. However, Chance’s response to the criticism was weird as shit, folks. All in all, I legitimately think he needs to lighten the fuck up, brethren.

Ok, for those who missed it, Chance recently got on Twitter and made some alarming statements, son. Now, if I’m being honest, I’m not about to quote his entire soliloquy, man. Frankly, folks can just read what he wrote here. But, he definitely took a situation that was not that real and made it overly serious, fam. Shit, he was out here tweeting that he thinks people want him to kill himself and/or feel ashamed for loving his wife. Nah, bruh, we just didn’t like the album, kid. It just is what it is.

For me, one of the reasons I didn’t like the record is the length, son. Look, after 34 years of life, two kids and a brain ravaged by copious amounts of alcohol, I can’t handle 22 songs, man. The truth is, anytime an artist makes an album that long, they’re going to start putting out filler, fam. On the real, if he cut that shit down to like 12 songs, I might’ve banged with it more. Like, tracks like “Eternal,” “I Got You (Always and Forever)” and “Big Fish” are in my rotation, bruh. However, Chance can miss me with all of them skits and the whole middle section of the album, people.

In addition, even the best songs on this record don’t compare to his previous work. Hell, I challenge anyone to find a song on this project that’s harder than “Mixtape,” son. So, the point is, Chance has made better music before. “Debut” album or not, he has a discography that people can compare this shit to. The fact is, his previous bodies of work are killing this new shit, man. Real talk, there’s no shame in that, fam.

With all of that being said, I don’t like the tone he used about the backlash. Keeping it a buck, I haven’t seen ONE comment where someone said they want Chance to kill himself. On top of that, the internet may have jokes, but no one’s actually shitting on him for being married, bruh. Side bar, that “I Love My Wife” spoof is fucking hilarious, brethren. C’mon, get a sense of humor, Chance. The truth is, these new songs just aren’t hitting like that, son. So, it’s a bit irresponsible for him to toy around with the topic of suicide. Listen, as much as I love music, I’m fully aware of the fact that there are WAY more important things in life, man. Maybe, just maybe, Chance needs to chill the fuck out, fam.

In the end, Chance has to relax, bruh. Ultimately, a bunch of people didn’t like the album, son. In my eyes, it’s not the end of the world, man. By and by, even some of my favorite artists have duds in their discography, fam. At the end of the day, Chance just needs to regroup, possibly work with some outside producers, and come back with a fire project. Lastly, keep the bullshit off of Twitter, bruh. That is all. LC out.

P.S. Chance needs to knock it off with this “debut” album shit, son. Fam, any man with Acid Rap and Coloring Book in his catalog can’t be saying this is his “first” anything, man. Good day.

This Is Why Kanye West Offends Me

So, let me keep it a buck, son. On the real, I never thought I’d write about Kanye West again, man. I mean, at this point, I’ve said damn near everything I could possibly say, fam. But, I’ve learned something new from his most recent press run, bruh: his support of Donald Trump is not the main thing that irks me, people. Like, I have the ability to understand someone’s point of view and still vehemently disagree with them. However, that’s my problem, folks. Kanye literally doesn’t have a point and his lack of knowledge is INCREDIBLY irritating.

Ok, before I continue, let me explain what I mean when I say that Kanye doesn’t know shit about shit. Now, take people like Ann Coulter and Tomi Lahren. Both of these women have the capacity to speak in coherent phrases and sentences. It just so happens that I hate EVERYTHING that comes out of their respective mouths. On the other hand, Kanye is completely unable to construct a logical argument for his beliefs. Shit, he’s been wearing a MAGA hat for about a year and he still can’t explicitly explain why he supports Trump. All I know is, “dragon energy” isn’t a thing and Kanye’s too grown to be this fucking elementary.

As another example, just the other day, he was walking around wearing his beloved MAGA hat and a Colin Kaepernick sweater. Well, what’s the science behind that, Kanye? No, “unity” and “love” is not a good enough reason for this display. Hell, Trump has used his platform on NUMEROUS occasions to take aim directly at Kaepernick. So, wearing both articles of clothing does nothing to improve relations, son. Listen, if Kanye were able to clearly outline his thoughts, I’d at least respect him. I would still hate everything about it, but at least I’d understand what’s going on in his head. As this moment, he’s a walking symbol of confusion and he really, REALLY needs to disappear, man.

In the end, go away, Kanye! Ultimately, I don’t want that Yandhi album and I don’t want that Good Ass Job album. By and by, Chance the Rapper should’ve left that idea in the mid-2000s where it originated. At the end of the day, I’m beyond tired of the stupidity, fam. All I can say is, Kanye needs to either read a book or just fall into the Bermuda Triangle. *Sigh* How about both, bruh? That is all. LC out.

Black Republicans Aren’t The Issue, Chance The Rapper

So, I’m not going to talk about Kanye West today, son. Frankly, my brain can’t even begin to process the fuckery he’s saying right now. On the real, I don’t know what’s worse, man: the idea that he really believes all of the bullshit he’s tweeting or the idea that he’s trolling us as an album rollout. In any case, I want to address Chance The Rapper and people who think like him. Look, no one said that Black people can’t be Republicans, fam. Real talk, people don’t hate Donald Trump because he’s Republican, bruh. We hate him because of his consistent disrespect and disregard of the disenfranchised.

Now, for those who missed it, Chance just tried to save Kanye. Somehow, he thought that tweeting “Black people don’t have to be Democrats” was some profound shit, son. However, nobody said that, Chance! That ain’t the fucking issue, man! On top of that, CyHi the Prynce took it upon himself to remind us that Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican. Ok, so was James Brown and Ray Charles, fam. Once again, that isn’t the fucking problem, fam! Keeping it a buck, Trump’s lunacy should be a bipartisan issue. Listen, people on the Right AND the Left should be bothered by what Trump represents.

Listen, when it comes to Trump, I’ve watched that man commit an unbelievable amount of egregious offenses. This is the same man who called all Hispanic people drug dealers, murderers and rapists on the campaign trail. This is the same man who enacted a travel ban to block Muslims from coming to a “religiously free” country. This is the same man who’s currently trying to block transgender people from serving in our military. This is the same man who’s trying to give guns to our underpaid teaching staff. This is the same man who’s surrounded himself with a MULTITUDE of people who are now under investigation. Need I say more?! Look, this isn’t a Democrat or Republican issue, bruh. This is an issue of a man who’s CLEARLY unfit to lead and we’re just letting him cook, son.

In the end, folks like Chance can miss me with this Black Republican shit, man. In addition, people like Kanye can miss me with the “I don’t agree with everything he says” rhetoric. Ultimately, that doesn’t make up for all of Trump’s heinous policies, fam. By and by, just because people may only agree with SOME of Trump’s ideas doesn’t mean that the rest of them go away. At the end of the day, it’s a package deal, bruh. For example, we can’t pay attention to his platform on jobs and ignore his platform on women’s rights, son. All I know is, folks like Chance need to fully develop their political and social stances before they open their mouths. That is all. LC out.
