Enough Of The Birkin Bag Talk

So, I won’t lie, son. On the real, Black people really annoy me sometimes on social media. Like, I swear, we pick the STUPIDEST fucking topics to argue over, man. Shit, with all of the REAL shenanigans going on in the world, Birkin bags are the reason for a civil war? All I know is, this bag debate has showcased a number of problematic ideals, fam. The way I see it, our priorities are ALL fucked up, bruh.

Ok, for those who missed it, a faction of minorities are arguing about Birkin bags on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Now, thanks to celebrities like Cardi B, Offset, Saweetie, Quavo, Yaya Mayweather and Queen Naija, there’s a sentiment going around that if men aren’t paying their women’s bills and buying them gifts like Birkin bags, then those dudes aren’t worth their salt. Furthermore, any statements to the contrary is a sign that these aforementioned men are “broke.”

Now, before I continue, let me preface this conversation. Listen, I’m a married man who’s been with the same woman for 12 years. With that being said, I have no idea how much money I’ve spent on her. Hell, I have no idea how much money she’s spent on me. Anyway, I pay bills, buy gifts and do plenty of things that men are “supposed” to do. But, in reality, my wife is my equal and we just do what works best for us. In my eyes, too many people online are adhering to gender “rules” and don’t actually understand what it takes to be in a relationship. Instead, their just playing a role to appear a certain way to other people on the internet.

Look, if a man can afford to buy his woman an expensive gift, then do it. No harm, no foul, brethren. However, it’s this “expectation” that throws me off, son. Like, my lady was with me when I was down and she’s with me when I’m up. I was with her when she was down and I’m with her when she’s up. Real talk, we mutually benefit from each other’s success. Frankly, she adds value to my life that can’t be monetarily measured. So, I have no issue buying her whatever she wants. But, I simply don’t believe in anyone dropping money JUST to secure someone else’s presence. Man or woman, everyone should have to prove their worth, man. And by worth, I don’t mean “net worth,” fam. All I can say is, money can’t buy a strong foundation. Plain and simple. Funds absolutely help, but there’s A LOT more to making a union work than that. Then again, I guess some people would rather “cry in a Phantom.”

Also, I want to talk specifically about those Birkin bags. Now, do Black people realize that Hermès makes these bags? The same Hermès that wouldn’t even allow Oprah Winfrey in their store back in 2005? For God‘s sake, we minorities LOVE cozying up to predominantly White companies that don’t give two shits about us. The truth is, this company does not deserve the publicity and THIS much of our attention. The sad part is, we never get this passionate about Black and Brown-owned brands. All in all, this conversation is a disserve to us in more ways than one.

In the end, there’s nothing else that needs to be said, man. Ultimately, the Birkin hoopla needs to die, fam. By and by, most of the people who are arguing can’t even afford the damn bag, bruh. At the end of the day, there are WAY more important topics to consider, son. With that being said, go vote, brethren. That is all. LC out.

My Only Gripe With Nicki Minaj’s Interview With Joe Budden

So, I won’t lie, son. Real talk, I was trying my hardest to avoid this Nicki Minaj and Joe Budden situation, man. I mean, we have two people who like to shout and talk over people, fam. The fact is, shenanigans were damn near inevitable with these two in a room, bruh. Moving on, I’m not here to debate the validity of their respective arguments. On the real, I’m only here to talk about how she disrespected Rory, Budden’s podcast co-host.

*Sigh* Where do I start, son? Ok, the tomfoolery began when Budden went to Nicki’s Queen Radio show on Apple Music. Now, I think it’s safe to say that Nicki didn’t appreciate a lot of the narratives that Budden started on his show, The Joe Budden Podcast. Namely, she didn’t like the idea that she wasn’t knowledgeable about the smoke Cardi B had for her on Migos‘ “Motorsport.” In her eyes, people like Budden perpetuate the idea that she’s always being catty with other women rappers. In addition, she hated the fact that he suggested she was on drugs.

In any case, during the show, she went “hamburger helper” on Budden, man. Like, he couldn’t get a word in edgewise, fam. Shit, she basically shouted at him until security removed him from the premises, bruh. Needless to say, after this debacle, the internet lost its shit, son. However, this isn’t the end of the story, folks. Now, despite getting cursed out, Budden still had Nicki on as a guest on his podcast. From there, they continued their conversation about her place in the music industry.

Now, with all of that being said, let me get to the crux of the matter, man. Look, Nicki believes there’s a “hate train” against her. She believes that she’s unfairly maligned and constantly under public attack. Side bar, I personally think that a lot of it is bullshit and that she has an inability to critique her own behavior. But, that’s another story for another time, fam. Anyway, Budden’s podcast went off of the rails when she turned her cannons on Rory. Frankly, homie didn’t deserve the heat that came his way.

Basically, Rory tried to say that Nicki shouldn’t put so much of her focus on what people say about her on social media. From there, she bugged the fuck out, bruh. Hell, she proceeded to yell at him for the next ten minutes and insinuate that he was vilifying her for defending herself. Next, she suggested that she was going to make up a false rumor about Rory, just so he knew what it was like to be “lied” on.

Son, Rory’s entire point was that the opinion of random people on the internet should not matter to a person of her stature. Like, who gives a fuck about the Twitter account of someone with an egg avatar, man? At no point did he say that she was wrong for sticking up for herself. His only point was that internet trolls shouldn’t be given any power, fam. Responses fuel these idiots. Keeping it a buck, their thoughts don’t fucking matter, brethren. But, instead of comprehending what he was trying to say, she decided to shout at the top of her lungs and refuse to let him speak. Yeah, really mature, Nicki.

In the end, that podcast hurt my ears, bruh. Ultimately, if folks aren’t trying to have a civilized conversation, then there’s no point, son. By and by, I hope Nicki finds peace, man. All I know is, she’s one of the biggest artists in the world and shouldn’t pay this much attention to negativity, fam. At the end of the day, the music is all that matters, bruh. That is all. LC out.

P.S. What’s really good with Mal, son? Listen, I’ve heard him say NUMEROUS times on the podcast that cyber bulling isn’t real, man. Well, where was that hot take for Nicki, fam? Shit, he was quiet as a church mouse while she was on the rampage, bruh. All I can say is, if cyber bulling isn’t real, then Nicki’s problems aren’t real, brethren. The truth is, he should’ve kept that same energy. Good day.

Cardi B: When Keeping It Real Goes Wrong

So, let me begin this post by saying that I’m a Cardi B fan. I mean, if anyone has read my blog, they’d know that, son. On the real, I’ve always appreciated the fact that she’s herself, regardless of the situation. On top of that, she’s from the Bronx, so that’s just code, man. With all of that being said, she needs to knock off the dumb shit, fam. Listen, we all know that she had a life before Rap. However, she needs to keep some of that shit to herself, bruh.

Ok, for those who missed it, Cardi is getting flamed for some shit she said on Instagram three years ago. So, based on her own admissions, she used to rob men during her stripper days. Now, to take it a step further, she admitted to luring men in who wanted to have sex with her, drugging them and THEN robbing them. Apparently, she did all of this because of “limited options.” Listen, I didn’t put “limited options” in quotations because I don’t believe she struggled. I phrased it like that because that’s still no fucking excuse, son. Look, I’m not naïve to crime, man. I’ve seen my fair share of fuckery while growing up in the Bronx, fam. But, she’s crazy if she thinks that people co-sign any of this behavior, bruh. Wrong is wrong is wrong, folks.

In addition, she ain’t need to confess to any of this shit, bruh. Like, this is the type of tomfoolery that got Liam Neeson in trouble. Real talk, no one needed to know that Neeson was looking for random Black dudes to kill, son. The same way that no one needed to know that Cardi was out here drugging dudes and doing Lord knows what to them. Now, instead of just tending to business, the public is looking at the both of them crazy, man. Hell, in the #MeToo era, Cardi can’t be out here talking about drugging people, fam. That’s the same shit that got Bill Cosby (rightfully) hemmed up.

In the end, Cardi needs to leave the past in the past. Ultimately, we already know that she’s not a perfect individual, bruh. By and by, she doesn’t need to keep reaffirming this. At this point, she’s just incriminating herself, son. Just watch, a bunch of dudes are about to come out and claim that Cardi did this to them. *Sigh* All of these younger artists just like snitching on themselves on social media, man. I just hope they know that the cops are listening, fam. That is all. LC out.

P.S. I don’t like the false equivalence between her actions and being a drug dealer. Yes, both are crimes, but at least a crackhead chose to do crack, son. All in all, Cardi’s victims ain’t choose shit, man. They just woke up with their possessions (and pride) gone. Keeping it a buck, I can guarantee that they didn’t sign up for that, fam. Good day.

God Bless Yung Miami & Cardi B

Disclaimer: Don’t watch City Girls’ “Twerk” video anywhere near a place of employment. You’re welcome.

So, let me keep it a buck, son. Generally, I try to be a responsible and respectable dude. I try to be a guy who’s knowledgeable about relevant and pertinent issues, man. However, for today, I’m just talking about ass, fam. I mean, it was EVERYWHERE in City Girls’ “Twerk” video, bruh! Like, all jokes aside, this might be the greatest music video ever made, people. With that being said, why is anyone still reading this?

Ok, for those who missed it, City Girls, well, Yung Miami, released the “Twerk” video with Cardi B. Now, I don’t exactly know what to say about this visual, son. Shit, there are copious amounts of women shaking all manners of culo, man. In addition, there’s a ton of body paint, stripper poles and entertaining displays of athleticism. On the real, what else could we possibly want from a video called “Twerk,” fam?

In the end, there’s nothing else to say, bruh. Ultimately, everyone needs to go watch the video, son. Also, I hope everybody paid close attention to my disclaimer. Seriously, don’t watch this shit anywhere near a place that supplies paychecks. Furthermore, don’t watch this around children or close to any clergy, man. At the end of the day, they’ll probably just start praying for wayward souls, fam. That is all. LC out.

P.S. Based on this video, Offset lost, bruh. Like, he really lost, son. *Sigh* Good day.

A Formerly ‘Ain’t Shit’ Dude’s Advice To Offset

So, let me keep it a buck, son. In order to make a point about this Cardi B and Offset situation, I’m going to throw myself under the bus. In any case, I just hope that anybody in Offset’s position can learn from my past mistakes. All I can say is, I’d bet money that his public campaign to get Cardi back is actually hurting him, man. The way I see it, Offset needs to take a much different approach, fam.

Ok, before I continue, let me outline my qualifications on this topic. Now, back in 2011, I was wilin’ in these streets, bruh. Anyway, despite the fact that I was a new dad and in a committed relationship, I was frequently involved in shenanigans that I had no business being a part of, son. Moving on, I ended up doing some shit with a woman who wasn’t my lady. Needless to say, I ended up in all of the doghouses, man. However, instead of immediately pushing her to take me back, I went a slightly different route, fam.

Now, as difficult as it was for me to do, I gave her space, bruh. I gave her room to make a decision for herself. No public showboating and no persistent pressure. Shit, instead of pining for her on social media, I legit disappeared from Facebook and Twitter for like 3 months. I made it a point to be present without being overbearing. So, that meant getting cursed out regularly. That meant getting ignored for days on end. That meant facing the possibility that she might not come back. All in all, the choice was in her hands and I wasn’t going to force her to make it.

Look, the point of that story is to tell Offset to back off a little. Ok, yes, it definitely seems like he wants his wife back. But, all of this attention may backfire, bruh. Hell, she basically said as much when she said “I told you I don’t like surprises” on Instagram. On the real, if she feels like she’s being bombarded on all angles, she might end up pulling away even more. The truth is, Offset needs to let her make a decision for herself. Real talk, that’s the only real chance he has, son.

In the end, don’t show up to any more concerts, Offset. Ultimately, he doesn’t want his woman to feel smothered. By and by, it’s insanely hard to loosen the grip while also trying to regain a connection. However, that may be his only real move, man. At the end of the day, the ball is in Cardi’s court, fam. Allow her to call the play. It might just work, bruh. That is all. LC out.

Jay-Z’s Verse On Meek Mill’s Album Is Incredible

On the real, I don’t know where to begin, son. I mean, today’s post could either be three sentences or three novels, man. Real talk, Jay-Z BLACKS OUT on Meek Mill‘s “What’s Free.” Like, Mill’s Championships album just came out today and I’ve already played this particular record like 11 times, fam. All in all, from the subject matter to the wordplay to the flow, Hov is reminding everybody why he’s a fucking legend (and the best rapper ever, in my opinion).

Now, keeping it a buck, I’m not sure I can fit all of my thoughts in one article, bruh. Shit, Hov has so many gems in this verse that I don’t know how to kick my analysis off, son. Like, we could talk about his indictment of anyone pitting him against Kanye West. We could talk about his continued championing of Black ownership. We could talk about his criticism of the music industry structure. Hell, we could talk about the metaphors and the flow. All in all, Jay checked all of the fucking boxes with this verse, man. But, don’t take my word for it, fam. Everyone can listen to the song below. At the end of the day, Mill put out a dope album AND let Jay go napalm on a record. Needless to say, I’m with all of it, bruh. That is all. LC out.

Enough Of The Goofy Sh*t, Nicki Minaj & Cardi B

So, let me keep it a buck, son. At this point, I don’t care who’s right, who’s wrong or who wrote what bar to what song. Frankly, Nicki Minaj and Cardi B need to knock off the goofy shit already. On the real, both of these women are successful, so why do they feel the need to continuously snipe at each other? I mean, honestly, what the fuck are they even fighting about, man? Seriously, as ugly as this feud has gotten, is it even based on anything real? Look, there’s enough room in the Rap game for the two of them. All in all, they need to just make music and leave the fuckery to 50 Cent and Ja Rule.

Ok, I won’t lie, fam. Real talk, I have no intention of outlining the details of the latest round between Nicki and Cardi. Hell, I’ll leave that shit to Pitchfork, bruh. In any case, all folks need to know is, the two rappers came for each other’s jugular veins on Twitter and Instagram last night. All I know is, I can’t keep track of who’s lying, who got punched by who or who was offered some fashion deal first. Shit, in the grand scheme of things, none of that fucking matters, son. From my vantage point, Nicki and Cardi need to just focus on themselves. Regardless of who people think is right, they both look nuts for engaging in such a manner. Like, don’t they have songs to record and shows to perform? Who the fuck has time for this nonsense, man?

In the end, I have nothing else to say, fam. Ultimately, Nicki and Cardi need to cut the foolishness out, bruh. By and by, Nicki’s place is already solidified and Cardi is as hot as any rapper has even been. At the end of the day, both of these women are doing the damn thing. So, they need to stop worrying about one another and get back to business. Or just scrap it out one time. Yes, I’m a hypocrite, son. A good 5-minute tussle will settle all differences, man. That is all. LC out.
