White People: Stop Calling The Cops On Us!

Look, now is the time to nip this racial profiling shit in the bud, son. Hey, White people, stop calling the fucking cops on us all of the cotdamn time! I mean, hasn’t the Black Lives Matter movement taught y’all anything?! It’s no secret that Black and Brown people are scared of police and for GOOD reason, man! The LAST thing we need is an unwarranted altercation, simply because White folks have an irrational fear of people of color. All in all, keep the fucking authorities out of these mundane situations, bruh!

Ok, for those who missed it, let me explain why I’m on ten today. So, Lolade Siyonbola is a Black graduate student at Yale University. Now, while studying in her dorm’s common room, she fell asleep. From there, some random White woman took it upon herself to call the cops on Siyonbola. Moving on, according to the authorities, the White woman stated that Siyonbola didn’t appear like she was supposed to be there. Oh, why would she think that, huh? Does it have anything to do with the color of Siyonbola’s skin? (*HEAVY sarcasm*)

Listen, this type of tomfoolery annoys the FUCK out of me, fam! Real talk, it’s so troublesome because it’s a SUPER common issue that people of color have to deal with. Shit, just the other week, Darren Martin, former White House staffer under Barack Obama, was confronted by police while moving into his new apartment. Apparently, his new neighbors thought he was a burglar. Also, in another incident, Kelly Fyffe-Marshall, Komi-Oluwa Olafimihan and Donisha Prendergast, Bob Marley‘s granddaughter, were surrounded by police outside of an Airbnb. Once again, the neighbors just assumed that they were thieves and called the cops on them. Lastly, we all know what happened to those Black dudes in Starbucks, son. So, I don’t even need to go into that again.

On the real, White people don’t seem to understand that they’re putting our lives in danger. Look, what if Martin had been shot in his apartment? Hell, that’s not an unreasonable thought since we get shot by the cops over EVERYTHING! How would these fucktard neighbors justify their actions then? Good Lord, even when we as minorities are minding our fucking business, we STILL get harassed, man! Keeping it a buck, it’s beyond tiring, fam. We just want to live our lives outside of the CONSTANT suspicion and scrutiny, bruh. All I can say is, knock it the fuck off, White people!

In the end, ahhhhhhhhhhh! Fuck, man! All of this shit has me HOT, son! Ultimately, situations like this make me question whether or not we really have allies, fam. Listen, Hillary Clinton is a “liberal” and STILL talked about being scared of Black people in hoodies. *Sigh* I swear, people of color can’t find refuge ANYWHERE, bruh. That’s all I’ve got for today, folks. LC out.

America, As Told By Childish Gambino

So, I’m not going to lie, son. Real talk, I have no interest in writing some elaborate think piece, man. I mean, at this point, A TON has already been said about Donald Glover‘s, excuse me, Childish Gambino‘s “This Is America” video. Frankly, there’s no way for me to add any new insight to the zeitgeist, fam. Side note, Blavity has my favorite write-up about the video so far. Feel free to check it out, folks. In any case, instead of trying to break new ground, I’d much rather speak on what resonates with me. All in all, there are a lot of gems in this joint. Allow me to speak about my favorites, bruh.

Ok, the first thing that jumps out at me is the dancing. Now, the actual moves that Gambino and the children are doing aren’t important, son. In actuality, they’re just a distraction from all of the fuckery going on in the background. On the real, it’s a perfect metaphor for this current generation, man. Look, these days, people only seem to be concerned with turning up, doing drugs and getting money. All the while, racism and classism have engulfed so much around us. All I know is, either we’re not paying attention or we’re just looking for an escape, fam.

Now, the next thing that jumps out at me is the gun violence. Namely, the fact that guns are treated better than people. Shit, after Gambino shoots a guitar player in the head, the gun is safely placed in a cloth. Meanwhile, the dead body is callously hauled away. Next, Gambino murders an entire church choir, but the AK-47 is delicately placed in another cloth. All I can say is, we all live in a country where the Second Amendment is more important than our lives. Keeping it a buck, I low key gave up on the idea of gun reform after Sandy Hook. Listen, if twenty dead children doesn’t inspire action, then what the fuck will, bruh? *Sigh* We can’t continue on like this, son.

Lastly, on a more positive note, I’m presently surprised by the vocals of Young Thug, 21 Savage, Slim Jxmmi, Quavo and BlocBoy JB. Being honest, I didn’t hear them at first, man. I guess I was too enthralled by what I was watching. Anyway, after hearing their adlibs, I’m excited by the fact they contributed to a song like this. Look, it can be said that artists like them have a heavy hand in the issues outlined in the second paragraph. But, they allow themselves to be part of a bigger cause. Now, I don’t know what that means going forward, but it’s super dope in the moment, fam.

In the end, well done, Childish Gambino! Ultimately, I dig the fact that he’s using his platform in such a manner. By and by, it’s easier to be “safe,” bruh. It’s easier to do what’s comfortable for the masses. At the end of the day, it’s much harder to jump off of the ledge, unsure of where the chips may fall. So, shout-out to Glover for not being safe. The way I see it, the times are waaaay too dangerous for that. Good day. LC out.

P.S. Since this post is about Glover, I also want to quickly discuss something else. Look, can Black people kill the narrative that a person can’t be pro-Black and date outside of the race? Listen, who gives a fuck if Glover’s significant other isn’t Black? Oh, is he suddenly clueless about minority issues because he fell in love with someone? Is he suddenly blind to systemic racism because he has a connection with someone? Knock it the fuck off, people! Everyone should be free to love who they love AND work towards community empowerment. That is all.

Shout-out To Selena Gomez & Bella Hadid

So, The Weeknd is back, son! Now, when I say he’s “back,” I’m talking about the moody dude who grabbed our attention in the first place. All I know is, every XO fan owes a debt of gratitude to Selena Gomez and Bella Hadid. On the real, I don’t know what happened in their respective relationships, but that guy is singing his ass off right now, man. All in all, the Abel Tesfaye on My Dear Melancholy, is the Abel that I’m a fan of, fam. On the real, he seems to be at his best when there’s pain involved, bruh.

Ok, before I continue, I need to check Selena Gomez for a second. Now, that girl needs to get the fuck outta here with her newfound activism, son. Frankly, I don’t want to hear about her March for Our Lives support when she shitted on the Black Lives Matter movement. Shit, I distinctly remember her saying that “hashtags don’t save lives.” So, now she’s a gun reform ally? Woman, sit the fuckity-fuck down, fam! Listen, hypocrisy doesn’t look good on anybody, man.

Moving on, when it comes to The Weeknd’s surprise EP, he’s out here spilling all of his feelings, bruh. Now, keeping it a buck, I’ve never been familiar with the tabloid fodder about his dealings with Gomez and Hadid. So, I can’t say for sure what lyrics are about who. By and by, I can only guess, son. With that being said, if Gomez is the muse behind “Call Out My Name,” then she deserves a cotdamn Grammy, man! I mean, that song alone is worth the price of admission, fam. In addition, “Wasted Times” and “I Was Never There” are certified jams, folks.

In the end, everyone needs to go check out the new music, son. Side bar, big ups to Frank Dukes, one of my favorite producers, for using his Midas touch, man. All I can say is, the beats are immaculate on this project, fam. Anyway, happy Friday and viva la great music! That is all. LC out.

In His Grandmother’s Backyard…

AHHHHHHHHH! *Sigh* At this point, that’s the first thought that comes to mind, son. Good fucking Lord, man, how many times do we have to go through this shit?! Like, is there ANYWHERE on God‘s green Earth that we won’t be shot, fam? Look, a dude can’t even be safe in his grandmother’s backyard?! Once again, it’s mind-boggling how cops always “fear for their lives” and never properly assess the situation. All in all, Stephon Clark died for NO fucking reason, bruh!

Ok, before I continue, let me address the individuals who will justify the officers’ actions. Now, let’s just say, hypothetically, that Clark was actually breaking car windows, as the authorities claim. Even in that case, why were the 20 shots warranted? Listen, when I watched the body cam footage, I saw two officers roll on the scene, fail to identify themselves, yell “gun” and just start firing. After all of that, did Clark have a weapon? Nope. He was simply holding an iPhone, son. All I know is, if Clark was really guilty of a crime, then that’s what due process is for. Let the courts decide his fate instead of MULTIPLE bullets.

Look, on the real, I’m not even going to get into the racial implications of another unarmed Black person getting shot. Real talk, I’ve done that COUNTLESS times on this blog, man. Instead, I want to talk about the GROSS ineptitude of our police departments. Now, let’s just pretend that these shootings aren’t based around an irrational fear of Black people. Even if that were the case, which it isn’t, why are folks cool with how cops handle these situations? Why are folks cool with the fact that officers ALWAYS shoot before getting a handle of the situation? Their constant “fear” puts us all at risk and people should be WAY more critical of their constant lack of proficiency.

In the end, I don’t want to hear about broken car windows and I don’t want to hear about Clark’s criminal record. Ultimately, those areas have NOTHING to do with the matter at hand. By and by, even if both things are accurate, that doesn’t mean he deserved to die. At the end of the day, if the cops weren’t in danger, which they weren’t, they had no reason to shoot that man so many times. When it’s all said and done, a “they feared for their lives” defense shouldn’t be enough, fam. Perception and assumptions shouldn’t be enough to end a man’s life. Frankly, they assumed that he was armed and then they took his life. Officers never need to be right in order to be defended. That, in and of itself, is a LARGE part of the fucking problem, bruh. *Sigh* I’m just drained, son. That is all. LC out.

Who At H&M Needs To Catch These Hands?

So, I’m just going to get straight to the point, son. Look, if I have to explain to anyone why a Black child wearing a “monkey” hoodie is wrong, then they should stop reading this. I mean, there are multiple levels to why this is fuckery at the highest level, man. In any case, the real issue is, I don’t know who deserves to catch these hands first: H&M or that kid’s parents.

Ok, before I continue talking about the words on the hoodie, let me talk about the hoodie, fam. Now, in the wake of Trayvon Martin, there was a concerted effort to criminalize Black people who wore hoodies. Hell, just ask Hillary Clinton and Geraldo Rivera, bruh. First, Clinton literally said that “the sight of a young Black man in a hoodie still evokes a twinge of fear.” On top of that, Rivera urged Black and Hispanic parents to deter their children from wearing hoodies. According to his logic, the hoodie got Martin killed by George Zimmerman.

Listen, if a hoodie is that detrimental to a Black person’s image, why would H&M dress a young Black boy in one? With that being said, let’s talk about the words ON the hoodie now. “Coolest Monkey In The Jungle?” Really? REALLY?! THAT’S the slogan that H&M thought was appropriate for their ad?! Good fucking Lord, son, I can’t believe the level of stupidity here! Look, like I said before, I shouldn’t even have to explain why comparing Black people to monkeys is a bad look, man. Shit, just look at the history of Western Civilization, fam!

My thing is, who okayed this shit, bruh? Real talk, advertising and marketing are substantial departments, son. Are we saying that NO ONE saw the issue here before this tomfoolery went up? NO ONE understood the possible ramifications of this? Furthermore, where the fuck were this kid’s parents? They were cool with their son modeling this type of nonsense? On the real, ain’t no amount of money worth my child’s self-esteem and respect, man. Keeping it a buck, if this were my kid, someone at H&M would have to catch this rear naked choke, fam.

In the end, everyone needs to be called out for this shit, bruh. Ultimately, this kid is still young and probably doesn’t understand the meaning behind his exploitation. By and by, I’m glad people like The Weeknd are chucking the deuces to stupid ass H&M. Clearly, they don’t give a flying fuck about how they present people from different cultures. All I know is, someone still needs to get this ass-whooping, son. That is all. LC out.

Get ESPN The F*ck Outta Here!

So, let me get straight to it, son. ESPN can eat a massive dick, son. I mean, they’re definitely showing the world their true colors, man. I guess, in their eyes, the First Amendment means nothing, fam. Like, free speech must be some imaginary concept, bruh. Shit, from the way things have played out, SportsCenter co-host Jemele Hill clearly isn’t entitled to voicing her opinion. All I know is, Hill needs to take her talents to somewhere she’ll be properly appreciated. All in all, ESPN is NOT the place, folks.

Now, for those who missed all of the fuckery, let me give a brief rundown. The nonsense started when Hill spoke out against Donald Trump on Twitter. She correctly called Trump a White Supremacist and blamed him for the rise of bigotry in this country. Listen, if anyone thinks she was off base, just remember Trump’s response to Charlottesville. Despite the fact that supremacists killed Heather Heyer, he still said that there were “fine people” on all sides. Look, if that ain’t sucking up to racists than I don’t know what is, son.

In any case, because of her statements, Hill became a political target. Trump’s entire administration tried to make her a punching bag in an effort to get her fired. Now, since ESPN is a bunch of bitches, they released a statement condemning Hill’s tweets. With that being said, she was effectively put on warning. However; since Hill is a real one, she refused to be silenced by the powers that be.

Moving on, here’s where the tomfoolery came to a head, man. So, Jerry Jones decided to be a typical White dude in power and threaten his Dallas Cowboys players. According to him, if any man kneels for the National Anthem, then they won’t play. Keep in mind, just the other week, this clowncake kneeled with the players before a game. Now, he’s trying to pull rank by putting pressure on his employees. Look, all I want to know is, when did Jerry Jones become a beacon of moral authority? Fam, ain’t that the same man that took these pictures? Ok, yeah, I thought so, bruh.

Anyway, in the wake of Jones’ hypocrisy, Hill suggested that people should boycott Cowboys advertisers. Frankly, that move would be a real way to affect the status quo. By and by, for her troubles, ESPN suspended Hill for two weeks for violating their social media policy. Basically, this was their way of shutting her up for speaking against their corporate interests. Listen, we all know how the game goes, son. Anytime a Black person speaks up, the people in control need to assert their dominance. Keeping it a buck, Hill became another victim of the need to maintain “order.”

In the end, ESPN is proving that they only want a certain type of Blackness. They want to exploit our swag but don’t give a fuck about our pain. Now, I know Hill worked tirelessly to succeed, but I hope she learned a valuable lesson here: these corporations want us to be caricatures. They want us to be docile servants who should be thankful for our positions. Ultimately, fuck ESPN and all other organizations who profit from our talents but remain silent about our anguish. LC out.

P.S. Michael Smith is a G for the way he’s standing up for his co-host. Salute, brother. That is all.

Don’t Forget What Colin Kaepernick Actually Kneeled For

So, let me get straight to the point, son. Colin Kaepernick‘s movement is starting to become convoluted, man. I mean, with all of the noise, debates and arguments, the original catalyst for kneeling is getting lost. With that being said, allow me to remind everyone what Kaepernick was protesting for. All in all, regardless of anyone else’s intentions, Kaepernick wanted to bring attention to racial injustice in America.

Now, before I continue, let me reiterate something I’ve stated before. Look, kneeling during the National Anthem has NOTHING to do with disrespecting the troops. Frankly, our brothers and sisters in the Armed Forces were never part of this conversation, fam. Real talk, the motive behind the protest was ALWAYS to bring attention to systemic racism, bigotry and police brutality. Listen, when we look at all of the Black victims of state-sanctioned murder, our anger shouldn’t be surprising, bruh.

Moving on, when detractors bring up the troops, they’re literally just trying to create a diversion. On the real, I have family members AND friends who have either previously served or currently serve in the military. By and by, their sacrifice has never been in question here. Keeping it a buck, anyone who is willing to put their lives on the line for their country should be celebrated. All I know is, nothing and no one can take that away from them, son.

All in all, kneeling for the anthem was never designed to disrespect them. Shit, if people cared for the troops as much as they say they do, then why don’t they pay more attention to the mental and physical issues of our veterans? In addition, why don’t more people pay attention to number of homeless veterans around the country? Honestly, folks are more interested in sound bites than real change.

In any case, when it comes to the anthem, the hypocrisy needs to stop, man. Listen, I’ve detailed all of this on my blog before. Fam, I’ve already spoken about Francis Scott Key, the writer of The Star-Spangled Banner. I’ve already talked about how he was a slave owner and an anti-abolitionist. I’ve already mentioned that there are more verses to the song that DIRECTLY reference slavery. Good Lord, bruh, I truly don’t understand why White people think Black people should embrace that fucking song. It was LITERALLY written by a man who wanted to deny us rights! Please, get the FUCK outta here!

Lastly, I’m calling bullshit on all of the NFL owners who’ve been kneeling with their players. Listen, am I supposed to believe that the same owners who wouldn’t give Kaepernick a job actually give a fuck about our rights? Hell, didn’t Dez Bryant previously say that Jerry Jones wasn’t with the shits? Now I’m supposed to believe he’s down for the cause? Bruh, how stupid do these billionaires think we are? Ultimately, all of these teams took a knee and locked arms as an affront to Donald Trump. This was NEVER done in support of equality. Meaning, they can take their bullshit gesture and shove it, fam!

In the end, I became more and more pissed as I wrote this article. Look, a protest that started with pure intentions has been grossly bastardized, son. All I can say is, I don’t want the spirit of Kaepernick’s sacrifice to get lost in the shuffle. Listen, that man risked it all to bring attention to the plight of Black and Brown people. All I know is, I don’t want politics and bipartisanship to dilute the message. Don’t fall for the okie doke, people. That is all. LC out.
