I Don’t Want Cops Shot Either

So, to the best of my ability, I’m going to try and keep this post short today. Yeah, I say that all of the time, but I “mean it” right now. In any case, I really hate the trend that happens in this country. Black and Brown people describe systemic mistreatment by law enforcement, our cries fall on deaf ears, some loser takes unnecessary action against unassuming officers and the national conversation goes back to ground zero. All in all, I’m tired of the cycle, son. The way I see it, the dialogue isn’t black and white. There is a grey area, man. Frankly, I don’t want cops shot either.

Ok, for those who are living under a rock, some wild shit went down in Los Angeles this past Saturday. Essentially, some random dude just walked up to a police car in Compton and shot two cops from the passenger side. No warning, no provocation, nothing. Just opened fire out of nowhere. Luckily, both officers are expected to survive after coming out of surgery. Now, I won’t lie, fam. On the real, this situation has caused an interesting schism on social media. One side sees how troubling incidents like these are. Another side is celebrating violence against officers. All I know is, the latter is a dangerous ideal to embrace, bruh.

Look, I know what some people may be thinking. Yes, it’s EXTREMELY disheartening to see law enforcement CONSTANTLY get away with murder. In that sense, it’s natural to desire retribution and retaliation. Especially since we can’t depend on the law to protect us from the law. But, everyone needs to see the bigger picture, son. I mean, just look at how this always plays out. Anytime we make some headway with depicting our pain, some idiot pulls a stunt like this and erases any chance of change. Instead of seeing the humanity in innocent minorities, detractors just use a situation like this shooting to ignore our narrative. The fact is, it’s fucking counterproductive, man.

Like, what do we really want, fam? Do we want the authorities to be held accountable for their actions or do we want to go to war with the cops? Seriously, I want to know. I’m all about the liberation of my people, but I’m also a proponent of strategy. Just bucking off on the police is NOT a recipe for success, bruh. Shit, motherfuckers like Donald Trump can’t WAIT to send the National Guard and the Army into our communities, son. All I can say is, the little handguns and semiautomatic rifles we have ain’t gonna do shit against tanks and drones, man.

Listen, maybe I’m oversimplifying this, but the solution is clear to me: officers need to feel the pain for committing murder. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it’s A LOT easier said that done, brethren. But, just hear me out. Take Breonna Taylor‘s case, for example. Word is, the city just settled with her family for $12 million. Now, just imagine that the money had to come out of the guilty officers’ pensions. I guarantee that cops would think twice before pulling these triggers. Imagine if more than 1% of officers were actually convicted of murder. I guarantee they’d think twice before pulling these triggers. The truth is, they’re so brazen with their misconduct because they know that NOTHING will happen to them. At the end of the day, REAL consequence will beget an adjustment in behavior.

In the end, I’m sure that there are a number of people out there who disagree with me. Ultimately, everyone is entitled to their opinion. By and by, I’m not the guy who doesn’t see the value in protection. Hell, I really wish that New York would loosen their gun laws, but that’s another story. However, I’m not down with just recklessly shooting cops and thinking it’s going to have a position outcome. If anything, it takes away from our REAL message and puts MORE minorities in harm’s way. *Sigh* All of this is just exhausting, fam. Fucking exhausting. That is all. LC out.

Can We Stop Politicizing The Death Of Soldiers?

So, keeping it a buck, my wife believes that I should run for office one day. However; there’s one glaring issue, son: I hate politics. I hate politics because it always gets in the way of human decency, man. Elected officials will take ANY situation and twist it into some bipartisan affair. Frankly, it’s disgusting, fam. It’s even more disgusting when this type of fuckery affects Gold Star families. Look, we argue about EVERYTHING in this fucking country. Can we leave dead soldiers out of it, bruh?

Ok, all of the tomfoolery began after four American soldiers died in Niger, West Africa. Now, details are still murky, but it appears that a 12-man Army team was ambushed by 50 ISIS soldiers. In the aftermath, Sgt. La David Johnson, Staff Sgt. Bryan Black, Staff Sgt. Jeremiah Johnson and Staff Sgt. Dustin Wright laid dead from the confrontation. Under any circumstance, this is a terrible outcome for a soldier. However; the ensuing political firefight has made my blood boil, son.

Now, once word got out about the tragedy, the conversation evolved into whether or not Donald Trump called the families of the fallen soldiers. From there, he incorrectly asserted that previous presidents, especially Barack Obama, didn’t speak with Gold Star families. Next, Congresswoman Frederica Wilson alleged that Trump told La David Johnson’s wife that he “knew what he signed up for.” After that, Wilson, Trump and White House Chief of Staff John Kelly got into a debate about who was telling the truth.

Listen, if Trump really said that to Johnson’s widow, then he’s the lowest form of scum. But, I already knew that about him, man. Shit, this behavior wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest, fam. The problem is the fact that the death of these men is being used to make a political statement. I mean, have we no fucking shame, bruh? These guys literally laid down their lives for this country. Can they get a little fucking respect, people?! This ain’t the damn time to be arguing about who said what to who and when. Honor these fucking soldiers, son!

In the end, I hate politics, man. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, fam. Ultimately, people want to make a point as opposed to being right. Honestly, I can’t take the constant bullshit, bruh. *Sigh* I guess this really is politics as usual, folks. LC out.

When Will We Call A Hate Crime A Hate Crime?

Man, stories like this make me fucking furious, bruh! Like, we live in a time where we can’t just call shit what it is. Look, instead of attacking situations head on, people would much rather beat around the bush. All I know is, I’m not one of those people, man. The way I see it, the murder of Richard Collins III was a hate crime, fam. All in all, just one look at Sean Urbanski‘s life can tell us all we need to know about that coward. With that being said, the police and the FBI NEED to do the right thing!

Now, for those who are unaware, let me give a brief synopsis of this story. To begin, Collins was a US Army Second Lieutenant who was about to graduate from Bowie State University. In any case, while visiting some friends at the University of Maryland, Collins and company were approached by Urbanski. So, after making threatening comments to Collins and his crew, Urbanski pulled out a knife and stabbed Collins in the chest. Ultimately, Collins was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Moving on, upon further inspection of Urbanski’s daily life, we learn that he belongs to an “Alt-Reich Nation” group on Facebook. Apparently, this particular group specializes in hating on women, Hispanics, Jews and Black people. Now, with all of that being said, why are we confused about whether or not this murder was a hate crime? I mean, a clown who openly embraces racist rhetoric randomly killed an unsuspecting Black man. Listen, am I really supposed to believe this wasn’t racially motivated? Man, get the fuck outta here, son!

In the end, nothing else needs to be said here. Richard Collins III deserves supreme justice. His promising life was cut short because bigots are becoming more emboldened by the day. By and by, if the authorities want us to believe that they actually stand for something, then Urbanski needs to be thrown under the jail. Anything less than a hate crime charge will not suffice, son. *Sigh* I’m fucking tired of this shit, man. LC out.
