Don’t Be A Hypocrite About Kevin Hart

So, I won’t lie, son. Real talk, this post is going to piss some Black people off, man. But, the hypocrisy needs to stop, fam. Like, we can’t pick and choose what to be outraged over, bruh. The way I see it, a number of people are looking at this Kevin Hart situation the wrong way. All in all, everyone is allowed to grow and mature, brethren. However, everybody should also be held accountable for the shit that they say and do.

Ok, for those who missed it, Hart recently stepped down from hosting next year’s Academy Awards. Now, before I continue, let me say that I believe Hart should be allowed to host the Oscars. I mean, let’s be honest, son, he’s not the first celebrity to do something fuckerous. Shit, Woody Allen seems to be at the ceremony every fucking year, man. In any case, Hart felt the need to backdown after some of his old tweets popped up. Apparently, some years back, Hart let the jokes fly at the expense of gay people. Needless to say, folks weren’t happy about it, fam.

Now, here’s where my issue with Black people comes in. Look, let’s keep it a buck, bruh. If the internet found out that Amy Schumer was making a bunch of “nigger” jokes 10 years ago, no one would let her live, son. And rightfully so, man. On the real, in a situation like that, Black people wouldn’t accept her “I’ve learned from my mistakes and I’m a better person now” apology. Frankly, we wouldn’t believe her. So, if we wouldn’t be cool in that scenario, why should gay people be cool with Hart right now? To put it bluntly, we can’t excuse a dude for saying “fag” if we would roast someone else for saying “nigger.” A slur is a slur is a slur, fam.

With that being said, Nick Cannon‘s defense of Hart doesn’t hold a lot of water, bruh. Ok, yeah, he found evidence of White celebrities also using gay slurs. All I can say is, they should be held accountable too. In the future, if Schumer or Sarah Silverman are pegged to host an awards show, let’s bring these tweets back to life. In that hypothetical circumstance, they should have to step down as well. However, that doesn’t pardon Hart, son. Like, what do we want, man? Do we want to be right, or do we want to be able to get away with the same wrong shit as White people? In all seriousness, that’s the only question that Cannon seems to be asking, fam. Regardless of how folks feel, Hart was wrong for the shit that he said, bruh.

In the end, Black people have to stop being selective with our outrage, son. Ultimately, I think that Hart should still be allowed to host the Oscars. But, we need to stop downplaying what he said. By and by, gay slurs aren’t cool, man. At the end of the day, if we wouldn’t be okay with racial slurs, then we shouldn’t be okay with gay slurs, fam. All I know is, prejudice is prejudice, regardless of who it’s aimed at, bruh. That is all. LC out.

P.S. I need Kevin Hart to stop talking about other people’s “negative energy.” Real talk, anytime he gets caught doing some dumb shit, he always blames the “negative energy” of other individuals. Look, “negative energy” ain’t cause him to cheat on both of his wives. “Negative energy” ain’t cause him to freely use homophobic language. Nah, bruh, Hart just needs to own up to his shit, son. Hell, we all fuck up, man. Just eat that shit and move on, fam. Good day.

Amy Schumer Ain’t Even Funny, Though

Ok, before I begin, let me make one thing clear: women should be paid the same as men. I mean, it’s only right that women receive equal pay for equal work, son. Now, despite that fact, people are BUGGING if they think that Amy Schumer deserves the same payday as Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock. All I know is, Schumer isn’t comparable to them and it has NOTHING to do with gender, man.

So, for those who missed it, word came down that Schumer renegotiated her contract with Netflix. This apparently came about after she discovered what Chappelle and Rock were paid for their respective stand-up specials. Look, I’m all for everyone getting their money, but the idea that Schumer is on the same level as those two legends is laughable at best. Now, when I say laughable, that’s definitely in STARK contrast to Schumer’s comedy. See, she’s just not funny, fam. Like, at all, bruh. Listen, it isn’t hyperbole when I say I’ve NEVER laughed at one of her jokes, son. Shit, I’m just being honest, man.

Now, if we take my bias out of the question, let’s just look at some facts here. Chappelle’s recent specials served as a return to form for the comedic hero. After YEARS away from the scene, his two Netflix specials were presented as his return to the limelight. All in all, why on Earth would Schumer be paid the same as him? Fam, she has NEVER shifted culture the way Chappelle or Rock have! Simply put, she’s never been in the same stratosphere as them.

Keeping it a buck, equal pay is definitely a real issue in our society. However; I don’t think this Schumer situation is an example of that. Bruh, she can’t be mentioned in the same breath as Chappelle or Rock, and it has nothing to do with her being a woman. Frankly, she hasn’t put in enough work to be considered amongst their ranks. In my eyes, paying her the same as them would be a disservice to Chappelle’s and Rock’s respective legacies. Simply put, they’ve been doing this A LOT longer (and A LOT better) than she has.

In the end, I hate when people inject social issues into irrelevant circumstances. Ultimately, Schumer’s situation isn’t an equal pay issue, man. By and by, her body of work just doesn’t stack up to theirs. Hell, she even admitted as much, son. Listen, facts are facts, fam. It just is what it is, bruh. LC out.

Go Away, Lena Dunham

So, I plan on keeping this post short today, but I just need to make one thing clear: Lena Dunham needs to go away. Far, far, faaaaaar away. At this point, what is her point? What is her purpose? What is she aiming to accomplish with all of the idiotic things she says? For someone who claims to be a champion of women’s rights, Dunham spends a large part of her life spewing unwarranted nonsense. Now, I could take some time and go through her laundry list of tomfoolery, but I’d rather speak about two of her most recent incidents. After this, maybe she can finally disappear into an abyss and never be heard from again.

Now, let’s start with her debacle with Odell Beckham, Jr. As of now, I’m sure a lot of people have heard about her make-believe encounter with the New York Giants star. During the Met Gala earlier this year, Dunham happened to be sitting next to Beckham. While recounting her “experience” during a conversation with Amy Schumer, Dunham went on some ridiculous tirade about how Beckham didn’t speak to her because she wasn’t shaped like the women he normally deals with. She essentially body-shamed herself and made it seem as if Beckham was the one being sexist. She called herself a “marshmallow,” a “child” and a “dog” in an effort to present Beckham as some heartless misogynist who only values a woman’s body. Somehow, Dunham turned a non-situation into an ordeal which erroneously painted her as a victim. For me, I could care less about the fact she apologized. This story should’ve never been told in the first place. It didn’t add ANY value to the REAL movement feminists are fighting for.

Moving on, just the other day, Dunham did the damn most YET AGAIN! This time, her foolishness awakened while reminiscing about a conversation she had with a young girl outside of a Planned Parenthood in Texas. The girl was asking different women to share their stories of abortion. Now, despite the fact Dunham never had an abortion, she apparently didn’t want to be left out of the struggle. Instead of just leaving well enough alone, Dunham stated on a podcast that even though she’s never had an abortion, she wished she had. What? Wait, what?! Did she just speak about abortion like it’s the latest dance craze? Is this woman fucking serious? There is absolutely NOTHING lighthearted about abortion! While I’m a firm believer in a woman’s right to choose, that doesn’t make the decision any less difficult for them. It’s never an easy choice to forgo a pregnancy and her ability to speak about this topic so nonchalantly shows how dense she really is. How can a woman “fight” for women’s rights but be so insensitive to an action that can be profoundly impactful? Man, get this clown the fuck outta here, son!

In the end, I’m mad at myself for even writing this post, man. I really don’t believe this woman is worth any of our time. Hopefully, when Girls is finished on HBO, the ground will open up and swallow her whole. She doesn’t deserve to walk among us. Good day.
