Lessons From Steve Scalise: Bipartisanship Needs To End

So, I’m just going to get straight to the point, son. Anyone who reads this blog knows that I’m very critical when it comes to politics. Now, even though the GOP catches a lot of heat from me, I’m not above calling Democrats out on their bullshit. With all of that being said, bipartisanship needs to end, fam. Look, disagreeing with one another is one thing, but James Hodgkinson took it waaaaay too fucking far, man! All I know is, politics is NEVER worth someone’s life or well-being.

Now, before I continue, let me send prayers out to Steve Scalise, Zach Barth, Matt Mika, Crystal Griner and David Bailey. All of these people were injured when Hodgkinson decided to shoot up a practice for the GOP congressional baseball team. Apparently, before the chaos started, Hodgkinson asked whether the members were Democrat or Republican. From there, he let off a large number of shots, hit a bunch of innocent people, got into a shootout with police, and ultimately, died.

Man, what part of the game is this? Since when do political disagreements give a clown the right to start attacking people? Listen, I’m always fired up about politics and policy, but I would never envision hurting someone for a dissenting belief. Why on Earth would Hodgkinson think this type of act would be beneficial to our nation? As divisive as the times already are, this idiot has successfully driven a bigger wedge between both sides. I mean, I can already see the heightened rhetoric between the warring factions on the internet, man. All in all, this move weakened us as a country.

In the end, we all need to get back to some type of equilibrium, bruh. Yes, I’m fully aware that everyone is not going to agree on the direction of the nation. By and by, that’s fine with me, man. Look, that’s literally the point of a democracy, son. We’re all allowed to have our own thoughts and opinions. Ultimately, I could think someone is completely out of their mind and still not wish them harm. Shit, I can’t stand anything Donald Trump does, but I don’t want him to be assassinated. That kind of aggression doesn’t benefit us in any way, fam.

In any case, I truly hope this isn’t a sign of more things to come. In regards to politics, the ballot box should be the only weapon we’re worried about. Keeping it a buck, Hodgkinson doesn’t represent me or anyone else who believes in common decency. In my eyes, that’s the main point we all need to remember. LC out.
