Yeeeeah, buddy! The fourth installment of New Music Fridays is here, son! Now, before we get to the music, I want to just tell everyone a quick story. So, anybody who’s been paying attention to this series knows that I don’t usually hype up the music. For me, I’d rather just put the tracks out and let people evaluate them for themselves. Shit, keeping it a buck, as obsessive compulsive as I am, it’s a miracle that I’m releasing songs in the first place, son. With that being said, I’m just happy to get the music out there.
Moving on, this particular song is a little bit different for me. Now, anyone who really follows the blog knows that I deal with clinical depression. I’ve written about it in the past as a way of taking away the stigma. In any case, the lyrics to this song were inspired by one of my low points a few years ago. The second verse in particular is a honest attempt at letting people into my brain. This includes references to drinking/smoking as a way to try and dull whatever I was feeling at the time. Now, don’t worry, people, I’m more than good at the moment. However; this song takes on a more personal meaning because of the underlying subject matter.
Ok, now that I’ve ranted my way through a music release, let’s just get to the song, son! As always, the song can be heard below on both SoundCloud and YouTube. Also, it’s available for download on SoundCloud. Happy Friday, folks! LC out.
