To be honest, I don’t understand this situation at all. My mind can’t grasp the reason why a man would choose to destroy the lives of so many people. As it stands now, I’m sure everyone has heard about what James Holmes has done. Frankly, I don’t even know what to write, because his actions don’t make any sense to me. All I know is, while it didn’t seem possible to me before, Holmes has successfully made the world feel a little less safe.

Adding it all up, there were 70 victims in this incident, with 12 dead and 11 others in critical condition. The saddest part of it all is the 3-month-old baby who was injured in the melee. Add to that the fact Holmes made his apartment a walking deathtrap with all of the trip wires and incendiary devices, now you have a man causing unspeakable chaos for God knows what reason. Due to the random nature of his crime, I’m not shocked Holmes had red hair and was calling himself the Joker when he was captured. While I’d like to know what drove him to this ridiculousness, in the end, it doesn’t really matter when it comes to punishment. This fucking guy needs to be put away for the rest of his natural life in the general population. I’m sure some people are hoping for the death penalty, but I can guarantee, those other inmates will teach him the real meaning of justice. It’s the least he deserves.

Finally, while we’re on the subject of atrocities, I’m overjoyed by what the NCAA did to Penn State. If you haven’t heard, PSU has been hit with a $60 million fine, banned from bowl games for 4 years, only allowed 15 scholarships per year over the next 4 years, put on a 5-year probation and their wins have been vacated from 1998 until now. In addition, that $60 million will be used to help Jerry Sandusky‘s victims. Seems harsh? Good. When a school covers up such evil in order to protect their football program, they should lose that same damn program. At this point in time, if you’re one of those assholes who’s still defending Joe Paterno, I truly wish the worst for you. That’s not right to say, but that’s exactly what you deserve. Being an apologist for an apologist of a rapist is one of the worst things you could possibly be. PSU faithful need to be ashamed of themselves.

As you can tell from the title, today’s post is a 2-for-1. I couldn’t let either story pass by, so why not talk about them both, right? Now in case you missed it, since my last post, the Miami Heat won the NBA championship and former Penn State assitant coach Jerry Sandusky was found guilty of child molestation. It was a huge 4 days in sports, so let’s just get down with the getdown.

First, I’d like to congratulate the Heat. Anybody who reads this site knows I frequently give them grief. I thoroughly enjoy basking in the failure of LeBron James, but at this time, I have to give credit where credit is due. While I’ve never been in doubt of LeBron’s absurd talent as a basketball player, I always felt he came up short in tough situations. If anybody wants to disagree with me, just look at his Finals performance last year against the Dallas Mavericks and shut up. However, I can’t hold him in the same light anymore. He completely dominated the Oklahoma City Thunder and definitely deserved the Finals MVP award. I previously said if he won a title, I would stop hating. With that being said, I’m a man of my word.

Second, Jerry Sandusky is a despicable human being. I don’t think any of us knew just how disgusting he was before the trial started. As time went on and new evidence was presented, I knew we were truly looking at a monster. I mean c’mon son, even his stepson was subjected to this treatment? His stepson?!? This man had no fucking boundaries or scruples son. Now, after being found guilty of 45 of the 48 counts, I hope the judge gives him all 442 of the years he could possibly spend in prison. Sandusky should never be allowed to breathe a free breath for the rest of his natural life.

That about sums it up. Here you have 2 opposite ends of the spectrum: a team winning a ring and a subhuman taking a fall. I don’t know what I’m going to do until basketball starts again, but I do know I can sleep better now that Sandusky is behind bars. Now, let me get some work done… sike.

Since there’s so much going on in the world right now, I decided to double up for today. Who knows, this might become a trend. In any case, 2 big events occurred in sports over the weekend: Joe Paterno died and my New York Giants made it back to the Super Bowl. I couldn’t pass up either story son. With that being said, I’ve decided to comment on Paterno’s legacy and gloat about how the Giants are going to “layeth the smacketh down” on the New England Patriots‘ candyasses.

First things first, a legendary college football coach lost his fight with lung cancer this past Sunday. This comes only a few months after he lost his job amidst the Jerry Sandusky sex scandal. While no one can debate his pedigree as a coach, you have to ask the question, what will be his legacy? Do we remember him as the winningest coach in Division I history, or do we remember him as the man who failed the children being victimized by his former assistant coach? If you’re an objective person, you have to remember him as both. The fact of the matter is, the true test of a man is how he handles adversity. While he could draw up a play to convert a 4th and 1, he couldn’t stand up to the monster he called a friend. At the end of the day, the safety of children is far more important than football. If you don’t understand that, I can’t fuck with you. Which means, I automatically can’t fuck with the majority of people who go to Penn State.

Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s talk about my Giants. I’d like to start off by saying, yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah son! It’s a fact that nobody except die-hard fans picked us to be in this position again. When we were struggling in the middle of the season, everyone picked the Dallas Cowboys to win the division. Where are they now? We weren’t supposed to beat the Green Bay Packers, but we did. We weren’t supposed to beat the San Francisco 49ers, but we did. Now it’s time to remind Tom Brady and company we already bitched them in the past. History shall repeat itself son. One thing’s for sure, we aren’t the damn Denver Broncos. The Patriots are going to have to face a real team now, so let’s watch them crumble under the pressure. Hey Pats fans, how does it feel to know Brady is about to be 0-2 against Eli Manning in the Super Bowl? Bring it, bitch.

To all of my readers, I will make this one promise to you: when the Giants win, I’m going to record a video of me doing the dougie, and I’m going to post it on the wall of every Pats fan I know. You’re welcome, you’re all welcome.

To be honest, I have so many thoughts about this Penn State fuckery, I don’t even know where to begin. There are so many people I want to lambast, I don’t even know who to target first. As I’m sure you’ve heard by now, head football coach Joe Paterno and university president Graham Spanier were both fired yesterday. This event comes in the midst of a firestorm due to the allegations against former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky. While there appear to be students rallying in support of Paterno, his old ass deserved to get fired and I’ll tell you why.

According to the story, in 2002, when assistant football coach Mike McQueary was a graduate assistant, he witnessed Sandusky having sex with a 10-year-old boy in the shower. He reportedly told Paterno, who then in turn told athletic director Tim Curley. Then, nothing. Now mind you, this isn’t the first time Sandusky has been accused of inappropriate relations with underage males. Back in 1998, Sandusky was also investigated for his actions with 2 young boys in a shower. Sandusky even admitted to showering with the boys, and still nobody took any action. Instead, Sandusky retired in 1999, was granted “coach emeritus” status and given unlimited access to Penn State’s football facilities. That’s right folks, the same facilities where McQueary claimed to see him abuse that child.

So you mean to tell me, after all of these allegations, Sandusky was still allowed to roam free until November 4th?? It was even reported he was working out on campus just last week! So don’t give me that “Paterno told somebody” bullshit. For a man of Joe Paterno’s power, if he really wanted to do the right thing, he would have told the police about what Sandusky was doing. Instead, the legacy of the football program was more important than the boys being hurt. For God’s sake, the man has a fuckin’ statue on campus. Don’t tell me he couldn’t do more to help rectify the wrongs of one of his most trusted assistants. Paterno even said himself, “with the benefit of hindsight, I wish I had done more.” That doesn’t sound like a man devoid of guilt. He knows he failed to do the right thing and losing his job is poetic justice. So from now until eternity, Joe Paterno will be known as the winningest coach in Division I football, who was fired because he knew a former assistant raped boys.

And for the record, all of the students protesting in support of Paterno should be fuckin’ ashamed of themselves. Have they no regard for those innocent children? What about the victims? All evidence points to Paterno knowing about the abuse and this is the man they’re rallying for? What if this happened to them? What if this happened to their younger brother? Would they be riding so hard for Paterno then? I’m completely disgusted by this entire ordeal and I could easily keep rambling about it. With that being said, I’m going to stop for now. All I have to say is, RIP to the clean image of Penn State football. That picture is fucked up for life.
