I Don’t Fear The Beard

Once upon a time, James Harden was the “Sixth Man of the Year.” He was also part of the Oklahoma City Thunder‘s “Holy Trinity,” alongside Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. Wait, that just happened this year? So what happened to him? Why does he suck so much right now? If OKC loses this series, a good portion of the blame should be shifted to Harden. I know it goes without saying, but you can’t be one of the team’s stars and fail to show up during the biggest moment.

Now in case you haven’t been watching this series, Harden has been God-awful. He’s only averaging 10 points per game, on 35% shooting from the field, 28% shooting from the 3-point line and 72% shooting from the foul line. To make matters worse, he only had 8 points last night in a loss to the Miami Heat, on 2-10 shooting from the field and 1-5 shooting from the 3-point line. What the fuck happened to this guy? These dismal stats are coming from a man who averaged 17 points per game during the regular season, on 49% shooting from the field, 39% shooting from the 3-point line and 85% shooting from the foul line. Are those enough stats for you? Do you get the point? In layman’s terms, he’s playing like SHIT! People want to criticize Westbricks, I mean Westbrook for taking so many shots, but what else is he supposed to do when you’re 3rd best player decides to leave his game at Trina‘s house? Sidebar, yeah, they’re dating. In any case, his talent is nowhere to be found and that has a lot to do with why OKC is losing this series.

In the end, OKC is young so they still have time to get it together. However, I’m sure it’s wack to lose due to one of your players crumbling under the bright lights. It’s all good though, I still respect his game, but I don’t “fear the beard” right now.
