The hilarity of this situation knows no bounds. Seriously, I’m laughing hysterically as I’m writing this. Really Chris Brown? Really Drake? Are we really engaging in “R&B Beef?” Over Rihanna? This is simply too good for words. There was no way I was going to let this story pass without speaking on it. So here… we… go!
To be clear, details of the incident are still a little sketchy. Apparently, a whole consortium of artists were partying at W.i.P. in New York City last night, where an altercation occurred between Brown and Drake. Brown allegedly sent a bottle to Drake’s table, which Drake sent back with a note saying “I fucked Rihanna, get over it.” Now I’m not entirely sure if that part of the story is true, but I want to believe it in order to increase my personal entertainment. After that, Brown was said to have confronted Drake, when Aubrey promptly punched him in the face and bottles started being thrown between the 2 entourages. Meek Mill was also there, and his crew allegedly threw bottles in Brown’s direction too. This is notable because a couple of weeks ago, these 3 dudes engaged in a stupid sub-tweeting war over Ms. Fenty. In the aftermath, Brown accused Drake of running to the bathroom, and even posted a picture of his bottle-induced scars. Besides Brown, 5 other people were said to have been injured.
While this story is definitely tabloid-ready, I almost don’t want to believe it. Are 2 grown men really fighting over a woman neither one of them are dating? Is her vagina that good? If that’s the case, I want no parts of it son. I can’t be taking bottles to the chin over some woman I can’t even claim. That’s just ridiculous. I mean, think about it man. A club-wide brawl started between a singer with a girlfriend and another singer who only had a one-night stand with the woman in question. That has to go down in the “Sucka Nigga Hall of Fame.” I already banned most of Brown’s music, save for “Till I Die,” but now, I might have to add Aubrey to that list.
Now before I end this post, I want to make one other point. I know I’ve been clowning, but this marks another violent situation involving Chris Brown. When you add up his incident with Rihanna, his tirade at Good Morning America, and now this, it’s clear he hasn’t gotten a hold of his anger issues. Somebody really needs to talk to that man. One day he’s going to end up in a situation he can’t get himself out of. For a man that’s been given so many chances, he can’t seem to stay out of trouble. He skated on those Rihanna charges, but he can’t skate forever. Until then, I’ll keep laughing at this particular fight. Good day.
