I would like to say congratulations to the New York Jets. You have officially signed a mediocre quarterback to back-up another mediocre quarterback. Now in case you missed it, Tim Tebow was traded from the Denver Broncos to the Jets yesterday. In the wake of Peyton Manning taking over in Denver, management made it clear they no longer needed Team Jesus on their side. While the future is uncertain, all I know is, the next NFL season is going to be epic, for better or for worse.
Now this move is baffling to me and I’ll tell you why. As the current QB of the Jets, Mark Sanchez is constantly criticized for his inconsistent play on the field. With that being said, why would you pick up a QB who’s even more inconsistent than him? Fact of the matter is, Tebow had the worse QB rating of any player last season. You can talk about the wins all you want, but a lot of that credit should be given to the Broncos defense and special teams. Tebow was notorious for playing terribly during the first 3 quarters, only to set-up a game-winning field goal at the end. In my eyes, the Jets signed him to boost ticket sales and increase team popularity. If this is about winning football games, God be with them (pun intended).
In the end, the Jets still aren’t fucking with my New York Giants. Rex Ryan and company were the red-headed stepchildren of NY before and they’ll continue to be that. Good luck winning that championship with Tebow on your side. The Giants and everybody else in the league are laughing at you right now. I can’t wait until next season. Peace bitches…
P.S. Over/under 5 games before Sanchez loses his job to Tebow? Any takers?
